the answer is yes - there are fees and a slight upcharge. For large orders, it's kinda worth it.

My wife uses instacart (I think) as an alternative to flower deliveries to our parents. The shopper picks out the plants or flowers while video-chatting and she can pick out some fruit or food items as well. Both our parents love it. It ends up being a better product and less expensive than traditional arrangements. FWIW.
