Here is what the rankings are based off of:

COACHING (25 percent): Quality of coaching staff over next three seasons, with heavy emphasis on the head coach
CURRENT TALENT (25 percent): Quality of players currently in the program, focusing on the future
RECRUITING (25 percent): Projected quality of 2014 and 2015 recruiting classes, and recruiting momentum
PROGRAM POWER (15 percent): Fan and institutional support, facilities, resources and tradition
STABILITY (10 percent): Accounts for potential roster and coaching staff turnover

Basically, whoever put that together, is

ESPN people like Goodman don't even have UConn ranked in their top 25 this year. They severely underrate Daniels and Napier. Obviously UConn is not going to score on coaching with Ollie. He's never coached in the NCAA tournament. UConn hasn't shown up in the recruiting rankings either year. Program power is only 15%, and UConn should score very high here with its championships, facilities, fan support (still in the top 20). I'd say the coaching staff is pretty stable, but who knows what the perception is.

I do know this: those rankings are very wrong about UConn.

Coaching: Kevin Ollie, need I say more.
Current talent: best backcourt in the country
Recruiting: 2 five stars for the class of 2014 in Rp and Dan Hurley
Program power: most successful program in the past 15 years (3 titles). BRAND NEW facility. Growing fan base.
Stability: Kevin Ollie, need I say more.

Please goodman, explain to me why we aren't even TOP 10???? Never mind excluded from the list......

Dumb list not having us on it. They are totally disrespecting Ollie and I hope he will prove them wrong starting this year.

That's the only reason I think we're not on that list. Ollie has only coached for one season.

Jeff Goodman would rather stab himself in the nuts with a pencil than give even the faintest praise to UConn. He's a UMass grad and not very bright...but I repeat myself...
I think he's an Arizona graduate, but yea, point still remains. He's an idiot

That list is a joke and a direct slap to Ollie's face. Our roster is easily an 8+ moving forward, program a 10, facilities will be class when finished. So they're basically saying ollie couldn't hold a D1 coaches jock. it's like espn is giving credit to teams who have the ability to underperform in the tourney.

Two 5 star recruits coming in so far, $33 million dollar practice facility, good game attendance during a season where we had a post season ban.... the AAC is rough... but they have Gonzaga at friggen 12. You could ask me to coach the team and we still deserve to be on that list.

Two 5 star recruits coming in so far, $33 million dollar practice facility, we averaged 16,000 per game attendance during a season where we had a post season ban.... the AAC is rough... but they have Gonzaga at friggen 12. You could ask me to coach the team and we still deserve to be on that list.

I think you meant 13,000, not 16,000.

I misremembered. :D I changed it before you responded.

You were simply predicting the future. When Gampel is rebuilt in 5 years, UConn will need to spend a season or two playing at the home of the 5 time men's champions and 12 time women's champions.

In addition to Goodman being an idiot, the other reason we're not in that top 20 is ACC...

Love it. Great list.

Arizona is in front of North Carolina.

What has Arizona done in the last decade?

Let me ask anyone here: who would you rather be, North Carolina or Arizona?

This speaks to Goodman's idiotic influence.
