[QUOTE="CL82, post: 3724818, member: 44"] I was coaching soccer and on the last play of the last game of season I had just replaced my normal goalie and put him on the field as sweeper. He steals the ball and goes the length of the field, with everyone cheering, and head for the goal. The opposing goalies comes out aggressive right at the edge of the box and dives for the ball just as my guy kicks. The ball, my players leg and the goalies neck all collide. The ball goes in but the goalie just lies there. He has some numbness in his feet so we called for an ambulance. As we are waiting the numbness moves up his limbs all the way to his neck. We are out in the sticks a bit and the ambulance was taking forever. I worried that I was watching this kid die. Scary stuff. Turned out to be trauma to the vertebrae (C-5, I think) with some spinal cord swelling. He was hospitalized for a few days ended up being okay. To this day my stomach knots when I think about it.
