Did they mention DeSields? Let the last game and was hospitalized with a quad injury

27-12 CHI end of first
Yikes! I was hoping for a competitive game.

Doesn’t sound good. Shouldn’t hurt CHI too badly since she was playing deep bench minutes and Gabby should be able to soak up her minutes going forward.

.-.
Sloot is in scoring, not distributing mode. 15 points on 6-8 shooting, only 2 assists.

I’m just hoping she’s gonna be okay. Not worried about it hurting chi-town.

So, they are saying the Fever's Allemand (3rd in assists in the WNBA) is Crystals main competition for ROY. I guess the record of the team is less critical for ROY than MVP.

Maybe she’s trying for MVP now.;)

If the Storm fall back to the pack., I think Stewie's strangle hold on MVP will be weakened. It might be the best player on the best team and that may open Asia, Parker, Sloot (what the hell, Collier) into the mix.

I wonder when Carter will be back.

The most games a ROY has missed is 4, which you can probably guess was Delle Donne.

If Carter comes back very soon and makes a splash, it could be hard to deny her.

When she got hurt they said 2 weeks. That would be next week. With this condense schedule... she’s already surpassed that

19 scoreless minutes for Gabby in the first half. What happened to her 3 point shooting from early in the season? Seems to have disappeared.

I say correct

The PG position has never won MVP.

Taurasi won it once, but I think she was playing the SF position during her MVP season.

Collier could do it, but she needs to keep scoring high, which will probably happen as long as Fowles is out.

I don’t think the voters will be looking for excuses to stray away from the Top 2 candidates. Barring injury, one of them should win it.

FWIW, she is having a significantly bigger impact on the defense, boards running the floor and making good cuts in this game than her recent games. The 3pt shot is not her strong suit

The 3pt shot is not her strong suit

There was much talk about her having worked on and improved her shooting from distance. Initially that seemed apparent, but she's under 30% from behind the arc currently.

67-55 Chicago thru Q3. Sloot w/ 23 points on 8-11 shooting and 7 assists.

Gabby needs to stop forcing the 3 point shot. Just let it come to her. Rebound put back... going to the hole...and go from there

Copper must've gotten hot. She had 12 or 14 points, next I know she's up to 26. 87-76 final Sky win. Sloot was quiet in Q4, but added a couple most assists, finished w/ 9 to go w/ her 23 points.

Dolson with 5 pts on jump shots to help seal the deal.

.-.
Sloot is currently in the 50/40/90 club.

I just noticed she’s listed as Game Time Decision for tomorrow’s game against Minnesota, and she’s missed 5 games. If she misses 5-6 games, I think she’ll be back up for consideration.

I discussed that exact point with Eric last night. We think that being on a winning team really helps a player in MVP voting. We think that having a great team is less relevant in choosing the ROY award. I think it should matter some, however. Isn't the game about winning? Minnesota is 9-3. They probably would be 6-6 at best without Crystal. Sabrina's, Chennedy's, and Satou's teams have won only 8 games combined. I like Allemand's game and have since I saw in Tenerife in 2018 (the Belgians are good!), but I think Crystal has been the best rookie, based on performance. (Sabrina or Chennedy would be better if they had played more games.)
