i wrote down notes quickly. i hope i didn't misrepresent anything that was said.

according to seth davis, literally an hr ago the lawyers for both sides broke off talks.
-said C7 won't walk away quietly, blaming football
- 30 yrs ago cable created BE BB then has left them hanging for football
- goetlib said syr-pitt to acc created the best conf
-davis said the C7 leaving is the best thing that can happen so they can grab maybe 4 teams from a-10....goetlib says no
-question was asked if this is the start of 4-16 team conf, davis says it depends on how much maryland has to pay
-davis blames presidents starting in the early 90's for all this mess
-segment was closed with statement that aresco was undermined by the people who vetted him

All of which are ho-hum type comments, except for the last.

Don't get the blame for the presidents. College sports has value. A LOT of value. The presidents didn't create that... the value is intrinsic. They'd be pretty derelict in their duty's if they didn't try to maximize their cut.
