Reading some threads today reminded me of the recruiting class of Elena, Tiffany, Caroline, and Heather. Looking back, Tiff has to be admired for her accomplishments and durability. The skinny kid who literally hit the floor hundreds of times missed minimal playing time to injury and illness. I know she missed most of a game when she got clothes lined by an immovable object named Maya Moore. I'm not sure if she missed the next game or not, but she played hurt and didn't get sick or hurt often. Compare that with Elena's illnesses and injury, Caroline's surgeries, and Heather's illness and injury. Tiff is a modern day Lou Gehrig!

Not only did Tiff play the next game (at No Carolina), she scored a game-high 29 points.

Thanks. She's a tough kid, indeed.

Which is why I named her to my list of Toughest UCONN Players the other day....! :D

Plus no one has ever played with more heart or given more of herself than Tiffany Hayes. Full stop.

Tiff was drafted 14th, I believe, and was one of the top 5-6 rookies. She made the All-Rookie team. Thus, she was the steal of the draft. She clearly showed that she can play at that level.

Props and praise to Tiff for her 4 years! 2 NCs,2 undefeated teams,7 losses in 4 years,3 BE championships,4 BE Tournament championships,4 Final Fours,147-7 record! Personal achievements in numerous categories, including giving her body for charges etal.

She would love to be on this year's team which has the potential to be so special!
Even without Tiff this is a significally better team than last season! She will be rooting us on and expect to see her at some point in the season!

I was at that Louisville game where Tiff got her bell rung by Maya. I was seated in a position to see the totally dazed expression on her face as she was walked back to the locker room. I thought she'd be out for a month, and any normal kid would have been out that long, but not our Tiff. She is just amazing.
