Just looking at UConn stats and noticed Pheese has more blocks than TOs and also has more steals than TOs. I'm thinking that combo has gotta be really unusual.

Now wouldn't you know it; I glance up the page and guess who else is doing the same thing? But I guarantee you that Breanna didn't do that her freshman year!!

Just for kicks I checked out ND, SC, Baylor, MD, Ore St and Tx. No one on any of those teams came particularly close to accomplishing this. She flies under the radar a bit and I expect even bigger and better from her next year and beyond. But even now Pheese is really special.

She's in that freshman never-neverland, where she doesn't quite know what's expected and her body language suggests
a modicum of insecurity.
But when she feels confident, watch out...Phessa is a major, major talent.

Napheesa is doing great. She is never going to be a primary scorer. She will get her points through put backs, cuts, open shots, and just being in the right spot. She always finds herself near the ball. Right now she doesn't have the strength to always get the ball.
The players she reminds me of are Sam Perkins and Bobby Jones both of UNC and NBA fame. They were great players as long as they were the 3rd, 4th or 5th option on offense. If you made them the primary on offense, they would struggle. I think Napheesa is the same. If she has a college career like Perkins and Jones then she will be an all time UConn great.

In the Geno A show on SNY this week Geno addressed the freshman. He says Collier is still too deferential and he used the "timid", while saying there is absolutely nothing she can not do on the b'ball court. I suspect Geno's true evaluation is that she is too tentative, but he wants the timid thing to head her way and sting a little.

AC Green. She's got the same game. Thankfully, without the hiccups (perish the thought!)

At Uconn - I would point to Barb Turner - taller and coming in as a freshman to a very different team, and I think she will have a better career (those three or four inches make a huge difference) but the same kind of multiple threat kind of player.
