Nick Williams as a WR then run: Bubble screens, quick slants, end arounds. Those are Nicks plays. Nick is a great special team player and has potential for certain sets offensively as a wide out. But to just let a 5 ft 8 in receiver try to run normal pass routes (where chad has a hard time seeing him and getting together timing wise is stupid. Please someone list me a few 5 8 receivers on BCS teams that play everydown. (I know he is listed as 5 10 but thats a stretch). Now don't take this as a knock on Nick - he EXCELLS in certain situations. He is a great special tems player and has skills for CERTAIN pass plays, but he is just not an everydown Wide Out.

Please coaches earn your frigin money, or retire.

It really boggles my mind. We know Nick has tremendous short area quickness and explosion. Why is DeLeone not taking advantage of that!?!?!?! He is the guy you want to hit on a quick 3 yard slant in stride. Makes no sense to me.

because the modern college game - at least on the offensive side of the ball - has past him by. PP too.

Don't disagree. But getting your fast twitch receiver the ball in space is not a new concept.

Bad game for this OP. Nick was awful today. Bad decisions on PR's. Bad hands overall. Made the first hit on Davis after he made a nice catch.

I'm not disagreeing with you, brother. Problem is 99% on the shoulders of Dele ands PP. They Just don't know how to coach a passing game.

Just utlize him like he was in the UMass game - shouldn't be too hard for these offensive coaches to figure out...

Not sure I like that idea. He was utilized in the wildcat.

Use him in slants. Quick passes over the middle Wes Welker type plays.

The problem is that Deleone calls these short pass plays but hasn't realized that Nick Williams last name is really Mitchell! Man, if only he could have gotten that memo from the commentators on ESPN3 then all might have been well.
