I just spent a half hour on the phone with Optimum. They claimed to have no clue about the free AXS TV offer. They said they're making it a priority and will call me back with an answer.

PLEASE CALL AND REQUEST THE CHANNEL FOR THE NIGHT!

Darrell Ewalt, an executive producer at AXS, says all providers that normally show UConn games have been offered its telecasts, but it appears the technical complications and red tape involved in offering a network temporarily cannot be overcome.

"We are willing to give any distributors AXS TV free of charge during the Battle 4 Atlantis," Ewalt said. "[We are] understanding for some systems there are technical challenges adding another HD channel. … Our staff is willing to help anytime up to tip-off."

Tell them every cable company in the state has taken them up on their offer. Not true but who cares.
Please call. Twitter/live chat email does nothing. Call and put pressure on them!!!
 
What about Optimum in NYC ? Or is it just for CT ?

Give them a call and find out. Tell them that quote. It can't hurt. They need to know there is a demand.
 
Optimum is having channel outages everywhere right now. Probably not a good time to call due to the hold times. I beg people to start calling in about an hour or so.

Ok. this is funny/crazy. Remember when Jim Dolan told a disgruntled fan that emailed him to go root for the Nets? I figured it would be worth a try to email him myself.

Mr. Dolan,
Sorry to bother you. Tonight's UCONN v. Michigan basketball game is
on a channel called AXS TV. Optimum does not offer the channel. I'm
fine with that. That said AXS TV has offered the channel to every
cable company in Connecticut for free for each UCONN game they
broadcast.

Last night, Comcast and a few other cable companies took AXS TV up on
their offer and have agreed to show the game. Optimum has done
nothing so far. Customer service seems to just ignore the request.

All I want to do it watch my Knicks at 7 and my Huskies at 9:30.

Well I just got a call from his Assistant. I didn't leave a number. I don't think I'm even listed. No idea how she got it. So she told me Mr. Dolan forwarded her the email. He's very sorry for the inconvenience. She said she's talking to the head of programing and really doubts anything happens tonight because of the holliday. They will try their best to get the next game (if there is one) aired.

So we're sh-- outa luck

Nope. Gmail. I gave my full name though. They must have just got it from their database. The more I think about it, it's really really easy for someone at cablevision to get my number.

I can write a 100 page thesis on how Dolan is a good owner. He's committed to spending whatever it takes and loyal to a fault. Isaiah Thomas gets treated like the Anti Christ by the media while Donnie Walsh is treated like a god. I can write a 500 page thesis on how absolutely terrible Donnie Walsh was as a GM. 1 BILLION times worse then Isaiah. There's an obvious agenda against Dolan in the media (particularly the Daily News). Is he perfect? NO. But he's cares.

Also, everyone tried to kick Glen Sather out of town but Dolan stayed loyal and built one of the most consistent, entertaining teams in the NHL.

I know this is an unpopular opinion and I'll get ripped but IDGAF!
 
Wow. Nice job CGarr. I called around 5:30 and they said there was nothing the could do. Ended up going to the bar to watch.
