So Fishy (who I would wager is the Yarder most plugged into the people who know what's going on in the UConn athletic department) is saying that the new media deal is shockingly not going to keep us or Louisville or Rutgers from jumping ship. Some of the Yarders are still clinging to the NNBE and look to Memphis and SMU as our saviors. Or NBC/Fox.
I was cynical but maybe I was wrong. The NNBE isn't dying because it's a geographic mess of a conference, with member schools who have nothing in common. It's not going down because Marinatto throwing all the life rafts to schools who, if they were on the Titanic, would be on the lowest deck of steerage. It's not dying because the ACC, even with all its problems, now has most of the original BE football league and now has a solid footprint in the northeast (not that it's worth anything). It's dying because I didn't believe in it hard enough!
We have to believe in the NNBE, it's like the college football version of Tinkerbell!
If we all #ClapHarder the Big East will be alive and well!
You have to believe!
#ClapHarder!!!!
