Choosing from 18 possible players (added Faris back in), what 12 would you pick? Keep in mind you probably need a complete team, not just the best players...
  1. Maya Moore
  2. Diana Taurasi
  3. Breanna Stewart
  4. Moriah Jefferson
  5. Bria Hartley
  6. Stef Dolson
  7. Tiff Hayes
  8. Saniya Chong
  9. Azura Stevens
  10. Morgan Tuck
  11. Sue Bird
  12. Kia Nurse
  13. Gabby Williams
  14. KML
  15. Kia Stokes
  16. Tina Charles
  17. Renee Montgomery
  18. Kelly Faris

I had to really think about it - getting the best mix of guards, play makers, shooters, post players, defenders, etc...
  1. Sue, Moriah
  2. Dee, Nurse, Hartley
  3. Maya, Hayes
  4. Stewie, Tuck
  5. Tina, Stef, Stokes
It was hardest leaving KML, Williams and Stevens off the team. In a year or 2, things might switch up a bit, but for right now, the way they are playing, that would be my team...

Sue, Moriah
DT, Nurse,Renee
Maya,Hayes
Williams,Stewart
Charles,stokes,and Dolson
Like reneee and gabby over Hartley and Tuck

you leave off too many of the players from earlier years. Lobo, a national player of the year. Bascom, one Geno continually praises. Cash, a great UConn player and a great WNBA player. Shea, Svet.

It isn't an "all UCONN greats team", but a current WNBA team based on who's still playing...

  1. Sue, Moriah, Chong
  2. Dee, Nurse
  3. Maya, Hayes
  4. Stewie, Gabby
  5. Tina, Stef, Azura

Great team. I think I would switch out Moriah for Renee Montgomery. It hurts to do it but really need to see whether MoJeff is fully healed and back to 100%.

I honestly think a random picking of any 12 players from that list would create a really really good team.
It would be impossible to come up with a wrong answer.

We are talking the pros now, so you don't just get to select all the best players, you have to draft against other teams.

For a bit of fun why not challenge another poster to see who can draft the best 9-player team from the 18 players available.

Post a poll of your final teams and let the board decide who would win, say a 7 game series.

No love for KML! I need to have the best distance shooter on my team.

Yea, I think that would be mine too.

PG - Bird/MoJeff
SG - Taurasi/Montgomery
SF - Moore/Hayes/Svet
PF - Stewart/Cash
C - Charles/Dolson/Stokes
Since you’re picking UCONN/WNBA players I can’t pick Nurse or Gabby yet in their 1st year in the WNBA! But I know they’ll be earning a spot in a few years!

<30% from 3 last year. Career about 32%. It's different in the W.
True, but she hasn’t gotten started yet. If she were on the floor with Diana and Stewie, she would get lots of good looks. She played with a unit that was offensively challenged and where she was the only scoring option.
