do we move up to the 9 seed and get DePaul?....Then we get West Va in 2nd round instead of Louisville. I almost prefer Louisville over a West Va re-match with them looking for payback.

I guess the 1st game easier in that scenario and that's probably only one we might need to win. Also like the karma of playing DePaul again this year since that's when least years run started.

I think we are locked in at the 10 seed. But it does put Seton Hall right back on the bubble especially if they lose theire first round BET game.

Read online that if Depaul score holds and St Johns beats Rutgers, we're the 9...not sure how it works, but read one of the beat writers tweeted that

I watched the first half and Seton Hall looks shocking bad today, would be surprised if they come back. I think they might be on the outside looking in if they lose.

Seton Hall and Cincinnati seem to blow sure thing tournament bids every year. Cincinnati managed to hold it together this year, but SHU is probably on the wrong side of the bubble if they lose.

wonder why the rutgers game matters, we both beat st johns, and they split with rutgers, so neither of those breaks the tie. we beat nova and they lost, if it actually goes that far down, but that is unaffected by the game.

oh s fl and gtown tied and we beat s fla and they beat gtown, so no tiebreaker there.

I think West Va will be looking to prove something in BET so I might prefer Providence/L'ville over DePaul/W Va.

Close call...oh well, we shall know in a few hours.

These may be the two worst defensive teams in the Big East. Maybe Providence or Notre Dame is close.

This game is over, Seton Hall is getting blown out of the building, awful showing with the tournament on the line.

its pretty crazy but due to ties (i.e. GT, USF, UC all 12-6..RU and STJ, if rutgers wins, both 6-12) our win over Villanova is the difference maker in the tiebreaker. Thus, go Rutgers lets get the 9 seed. I definetely think our chances of beating DePaul and WVU are greater than PC and UL.

Id honestly feel more comfortable with the 10 seed. No way JC would let Providence beat them twice in seven days, Louisville who is not playing well right now is there for the taking Wednesday. They have a better chance getting to the quarterfinals that route instead of having to play WVU in a payback game.

I'd rather be the 9. We always play great against DePaul, and I just think that Louisville is a terrible matchup for UConn, even if they're playing poorly right now. Plus, playing as the 9 seed and playing DePaul just sets the parallel to last year...

why does it matter rutgers or st johns?
we both beat st johns, and they split with rutgers and we lost, so neither of those teams is tiebreaker regardless of who wins.

I'm in a dilemma here.... I want Rutgers to beat St. John's because, in my opinion, it sets us up the best to make a BET run. However, if we're the 9 seed, we would play at noon on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Normally, I have no problem skipping classes to watch a game, but I have exams at 1:00 both days...

Selfishly, I might be rooting for St. John's tonight.

I think that I understand, now. If St Johns wins, then Rutgers, Nova, and Pitt are tied. So our record against the three of them combined are compared, since we are 2-1, and hall 2-2, this does not break tie. move down to providence, and their win decides it. if rutgers wins, then our 2-0 over nova/pitt beats their 1-1.

Tennessee seems to be better than they were at the beginning of the year. Providence is a rivalry game. How the heck did uconn lose to Rutgers??

Most def would want the 9th seed Depaul is almost automatic and WVU is an easier game than UL. Whether UL is playing bad or not their the tougher opponent. This way when we win those two games we can then whoop da cuse!
