The most likely scenario would be for Louisville to join the B-12. If all this happens what happens to the BE. First, Navy & Boise St. will drop plans to join the BE which would most likely signal the end of BE football. Teams like Cinn. USF, Temple, UCF, Memphis, Houston, SMU and perhaps, San Diego & Boise could form their own football conference.
As far as BE hoops, the most exciting teams, UConn, SU, ND, Pitt, & Louisville would be gone. Unless St. John's can return to the Chris Mullen days (very doubtful) MSG wouldn't want the BE tourney there. Even though the BE & MSG agreed on a long term deal, that deal was to include UConn, RU, & Louisville. MSG probably has justification to break the deal.
The A-10 has tried to make some noise about the new arena in Brooklyn, but where is the attraction, for NYC, in that league. Dayton & Xavier have nice programs, but little fanfare in the big apple.
My guess is if the BE hoops holds together they would have to bow to the ACC to hold their tourney every 4-5 years in MSG.
