Creighton got blown out today by San Diego State so I guess misery loves company. The big east is not looking so good right now for any league power stat.

Ugh. I was really wishing we could 3-peat. It would have made us immortal and the big12 couldnt say no again next year, which is when revenue sharing begins. In other words, next summer is pretty much the deadline for future relevancy. Without revenue sharing It’ll be a vertical climb for BE recruiting starting with the 26 class.

We're not Creighton. No other teams demise would make me ever feel better if my team is not performing well
Especially any conference mate (not named Syracuse). But demise is a strong word here - I understand they had to play without Ashworth. CU will be better by the time BE starts I think.

If you really want to feel better take a look at the score in the Indiana/Louisville game. Not sure Woodson gets through the year with that fanbase.

Indiana cut their deficit to just 28 at the end of the game to make it look more "respectable".

How much longer will they go with Woodson?

Big East overall is losing a ton of key games. Won't help come Selection Sunday.

We have beat some decent OOC teams and take care of business in league. It’s simple, it’s brutal and now every team out there is not afraid.

St John's, Butler, X are all playing well and may be Dancing

UConn, Marquette & Creighton will be dancing

No chance PC, GTown, Hall and Nova

DePaul greatly improved, although that's not saying much just yet

You never know when a dream season is coming until it happens

Minimum 4, maybe 6

One of the league's problems is that two of its best players are out hurt. Hopkins and PC and Ashworth and Creighton are not playing, and neither team is competitive without those two. Unfortunately, both should be back in time for conference play, so there will be battles against pretty good PC and Creighton teams that have bad computer rankings.

Creighton's depth is really concerning. Neal (a key transfer from Arizona State) doesn't look the part yet. He doesn't seem to have the shooting ability to fit in a McDermott offense.

The Bluejays keep waiting for Miller, Traudt, or Green to pop, but they've shown very little.

Ashworth and Kalk are excellent second or third options (e.g., behind Alexander and Schierman last year), but now opposing teams are game planning specifically for them.

Their x-factor: Fedor. They need him cleared by the NCAA.

Fyi, Ashworth played the other day in their Texas A&M loss. He's back from injury.

Ashworth came back on Wednesday against Texas A&M. Started the game and scored 14 pts in 31 mins.

Mason Miller has been a massive disappointment. A fairly well rated junior that just hasn’t developed and one of those types of kids that program counts on.

In today’s portal world he’s the kind of kid coaches have to be very diligent about assessing whether worth continuing to invest in or whether you move on with a portal upgrade. This is part of today’s landscape that is one of the most challenging: when do you move on a kid you’ve invested in to keep continuity and culture and when do you cut your losses? Hurley may face some of that this year.

I look at the BE standings and I feel as if I've been transported to an alternate universe.
  • DePaul is 7-0
  • Butler is 6-1 and the Arizona Tipoff Champions beating #25 Miss St
  • Georgetown is 5-1
  • Nova is 4-4 losing to Columbia and St Joe's along the way
  • #21 Creighton gets blown out by SDSU and is 4-3
  • #22 Xavier gets blown out by Michigan
  • Friars lose 3 straight and finish last in the Battle 4 Atlantis
  • We lose 3 straight (as many losses as last season) to finish last in Maui

I’m taking this year off. Can’t watch losing basketball. Not good for my mental health. See y’all next year. Go Huskies.
