Who plays the 4? We dont really have anyone who fits that mold. I guess we can go small with TS, boat, purv, dham and phil/ab... that would be a similar team to like nova when they ran their 4 guard offense. Any way you look at it it still leaves us really light on the bench.

Daniels is a smart kid.

He isn't going anywhere.
He knows he isn't ready, just yet.

Same with Boat.

Facey can give you on defense what Daniels did. The difference is on offense.

The 3-4 in college can be anything, and even the 5 to some extent. I would think the 4 could be some Facey, some Lubin, some Nolan, some DHam, if they go small.

I think people are underselling Nolan's value as a four. He's a capable perimeter defender who occasionally gets bullied inside by stronger fives. His offense needs some improvement if he wants to get much time there, yes, but a Nolan/Brimah front court would be a terror defensively.

Nolan is a natural four. But if he plays the 4, we only have Brimah at the 5. You need two centers, it's a foul-prone position.

Uhhhh

I haven't seen anything to indicate that DeAndre would go in the first round, so I'd be pretty surprised if he decided to leave. My gut says he stays and Boatright leaves, but more and more I'm starting to sense that maybe Ryan will stick around for another year to establish himself as a dominant lead guard.

But I wouldn't begrudge either of them if they decided to go. This whole thing was just too crazy.

I really hope people don't bash DD if he does decide to leave. Hes done his job by winning us a title anything else is icing on the cake

If anybody bashes DD for leaving Fishy will give William Shea and Freescooter their phone number and home address.

I'll go out on a limb and say nobody with a brain will bash DD if he leaves. I hope DD listens to his father and stays and gets his degree. I also think DD needs to learn to be more aggressive as that may be his only weakness if he leaves early. Either way we owe him a lot of thanks.

Daniels and Boat would serve themselves well to stay another year. Daniels needs to get a little stronger and Boat needs to be a better point/leader with Bazz gone. I say this because I want them to succeed on the next level, not just be drafted but have a long and solid career. They have been great and I would wish them the best if they choose the draft but I honestly think that another year under Ollie they will become considerably better prepared for the NBA and the rigors of a longer year and older and stronger competition.

I was impressed with Facey every time he got in a game. Lot's of intensity, defense and rebounding. I told him that around 3:00 AM after the game at the team hotel.

If I were an NBA team I would draft Daniels in the first round.
If I were Daniels and I was going to be drafted first round then I'd go pro.
I'll be cheering for him when I hear his name called draft night.

I think we should all prepare for DD leaving for the NBA, and he has earned that right, and we should all be more than greatful for his contributions. I could be wrong, but I think he will (and should) strike while the iron is hot..he has nothing left to prove. There will definitely be a gap to fill, but I think the combination of Hamilton and Facey will be more than adequate - I really see Hamilton giving 12-15 ppg, and I think Facey, after a summer of weights and conditioning, will play legitimate minutes next year and be big time on the boards. His offensive game isn't as raw as people think either. There is no replacing what DD did this year, but our frontcourt will have some depth next year. Lubin obviously is another guy who can hopefully give 5-15 minutes off the bench and provide a different, bigger/tougher look. The cubpoard is far from empty and if DD leaves there is another scholly to consider. Not sure we give that spot to another 2014 guy like Melvin Swift or seek transfers (Obekpa?). I'm pretty excited for this summer - back on the recruiting trail with new vigor. Who says no to KO now?
