ICYMI: Hurley Interview on 97.9 ESPN Radio 5/30/18

I'm really excited to see what this team, especially Jalen, can be with some real strength and conditioning. That alone should up the ability to play tough, which in turn will win us games in this conference.

Danny Hurley continues to impress with his overall approach to coaching and player relationships. It strikes me as Calhounish, if I may coin a word, and I can see why JC is so high on Danny.

Excited to see how the team looks and plays. Really like his message and approach. Seems to have a plan!

Loved hearing him say Vital is the #1 gym rat on the squad. I think he's going to excel in a system that utilizes his strengths.

He also mentioned that he's watched 20+ games at this point and our softness/lack of a competitive nature is a common theme. "Watching the Villanova game, even if you're not that talented, there's a force that you've got to play with to gain the respect, forget about winning, of the person you're competing with."

I'm really looking forward to this season. Should be exciting and I really think we are going to surprise folks. There is talent in this squad. Not to beat a dead horse, but Ollie just did not know how to get the job done. Great coaching is a special talent that few people have.

"I've watched maybe 22 games noe (from last season) and I think I'm gonna stop"

Love it

Really, there's not much to glean from them. Once you get the general idea what was going on (intensity, focus, defense, etc), it's the law of diminishing returns.
