Love this pic!
Uconn.jpg

Truly amazing photo considering the story behind it as Bald Husky pointed out that makes it one of a kind.
Who should we give credit to choosing the right moment to capture this?

Glad this whole thing happened this season, because next season with no more SNY, it's unlikely we get this kind of coverage.
Actually with Fox, ESPN, and CBS Sports taking over I believe that we will be able to see every game that UConn plays. Fox has the main contract with the Big East and they can have all of the games that aren't on ESPN or CBS Sports be available through the Fox apps just like they have done with SNY. UConn is the team that carries the Big East when it comes to Big East Women's basketball and the more that the Big East is on TV the more exposure they get.

I'm not worried about the games, but all of the extra coverage that we've grown accustom to. The new media deal will be good for the Big East, but ultimately I think it results in less overall coverage for us.

I believe that it will still be covered, you just won't get the after game coverage that SNY provided. Who knows someone will most likely step in and do some of the things that SNY was under contract to do.

I have to make one correction about my comment of the photo. Phee was not a #1 draft pick but was drafted #6. I remember at the time Kara Lawson said that Minnesota got the steal of the draft, and the most complete player in the draft. Still, one of the very best in the league.

Phee is not in the photo though...that is Sue, Diana and Maya.

Yes, I know. Without looking at the picture again something in my very old mind had Phee pop up. I just looked at it and called myself an idiot. Too many great players sort of mixed me up I guess.

I don't want to get too dramatic or mushy on this but that iconic photo more than many reflects the tremendous strides not just at UConn but in all of women's basketball (and maybe all sports) that have been made over the last 10-15 years. It's a testament to many including those three GOAT's we see sitting behind the three young new bloods who are ready to continue their legacy. It's such a healthy and welcome sign of things to come. We should all feel gratitude and pride in what has been accomplished.

And there is a coach and an associate we know and love who we can all say with justified pride made much of it happen.

I really would love to know what Diana is thinking?! Could be her past recollections at Uconn or maybe something more immediate.Any thoughts?

"Oh man... getting that concession stand burrito may have been a mistake."
