Bravo, well done. Why the C Sharp? They seem more flat to me.
Wait till they start saying "The Big East -- home of six national champions!"[/quote
I admit that will be a punch in the gut.
Call em whatever, I don't care. I know I will never watch one of those teams unless they're playing UConn. I just wished the split would have come when the football side was still intact.
I agree. New rule : henceforth such a league will be referred to as "the Catholics".....ok we'll at least that's how I intend to call them.
He knows. He was making a play on the sharp vs. flat. The # because who knows how many teams they will acquire. My son suggested they should be called the "Big Least". Appropriate, I think.
The C flats were told by Fox that they needed the name in order to get the contract. They were squeezed by this ultimatum and the football schools, knowing this bargained tough. Two of the three football schools are hoping to not be in the conference for long so they gambled on giving up the name for the monies. Hopefully they gambled correctly because the name has value.Just goes to show you though. When push came to shove the C7, saw the value in saying keep the NCAA credits, give us the name. That is exactly what the football side should have done when they had the chance. Oh well. Moving on.
CYOI agree. New rule : henceforth such a league will be referred to as "the Catholics".....ok we'll at least that's how I intend to call them.
