For those of you who are interested, Dave Benedict appeared in the "Unbelievable is Believable Here" about the VCU team that Shaka coached in the NCAA tournament.
It's a good cocumentary about a VCU team that didn't even win their conference and went on a run in the tournament.
If you read Benedict's UConn bio, he was apparently the interim AD there and led them from the CAA to the A10. I don't know why they didn't give Dave the job there. Anyway, it was while he was serving in that capacity that he probably became familiar with Butler University and Xavier, (who he likely reached out to when he wanted to rejoin them with UConn).
