You're going to have to vote a lot to make your prediction come true. :)

She's vying with Tiffany for PT to some degree now, and PT will get scarcer once DuMerc gets acclimated. That said, Shoni has been impressive and could make the All-Rookie team.

NEW YORK -- Elena Delle Donne and Maya Moore are the early vote leaders for the WNBA All-Star game.
Delle Donne, who last year became the first ever rookie to lead all vote-getters, is once again topping the ballot released Tuesday.
The Chicago forward is joined in the Eastern Conference frontcourt by Tamika Catchings of the Indiana Fever and Angel McCoughtry of the Atlanta Dream. McCoughtry's teammate, rookie Shoni Schimmel, leads the East guards with Ivory Latta second.
Moore is leading the league in scoring. Minnesota's star forward is joined by Los Angeles' Candace Parker and Phoenix's Brittney Griner in the front court. Griner's teammate on the Mercury, Diana Taurasi, and the Lynx's Seimone Augustus lead the guards.
The starters will be announced on July 8. The reserves, who will be voted on by the league's coaches, will be revealed a week later.
The All-Star game is on July 19 in Phoenix.

It will be interesting if non-starters on their respective teams are chosen to start on the All-Star squad.

Well I think it was a disservice to Tiffany Hayes (who is starting) not to be one of the athletes on the ballot representing the Dream. I really love Shoni but she has not paid her dues nor is she starting over Tiffany. I will not be voting for Shoni although I think she will be a terrific pro, just not this year. She was as hyped by the WNBA as the "Big 3". As good as she is there are several other deserving people at the moment. I put Shoni into the Bentley from the Sun group.

It doesn't matter. It's just a popularity contest.

I was hoping Hartley and Dolson would get voted on too but I could only do a write-in vote for one and chose Hartley.

I voted for Shoni pretty much since day one. The young lady is going to be something special for the league. This whole event is something fun for the fans and the players. There will be players that should be there but will get over looked, it happens. It is not nice but that is just the way it works. Oh here are my picks

West:
Brit
Maya
Candace
Diana
Skylar

East:
TC
Elena
Angel
Katie-One of my favorite players in the WNBA
Shoni

Well I love Bria and Stephanie but as I said about Shoni they are not deserving of an all star. The only reason I responded to the post was that the original post said that someone was going to vote for Schimmel even though she isn't a starter and would vote every day for them. Skylar does definitely deserve that adulation. Shoni has started the first few games but after the dream lost so many games they went back to last years starters and ended up in first. It's great that theWNBA has such great athletes as Shoni to promote but sometimes other more deserving players are left to hang out to dry at the expense of promoting the league. Shoni has had great games and she also has had her 4 turnovers one for six shooting nights too. Solar Diggins and latte are most deserving.

Popularity contest for the fans, people. It's who the fans want to see in the game.

It may be good for the WNBA too since more people will tune in to watch the game. Maybe they'll keep watching regular season games.

A small group of fans that stuffed the ballot box will be inclined to tune in. The other fans may stay away instead of watching players who didn't make the game based on performance.

Was that you opinion last year when Griner was voted a starter? She certainly didn't earn the honor based on performance.

Based on past All-Star games that would probably be a small group as well.

Don't let jealousy cloud your opinion of the voting.

More viewers/butts in the seats benefits all the players on the other teams.

If a lot of people go to see Shoni at away games who does that benefit? The home team, that's who.

If a lot of people tune in to the away games or subscribe to All-Access to watch Shoni at away games then that benefits the home team and the WNBA.

The WNBA needs more stars and that's what this year's rookies is giving it.

FYI- this year's viewing audience may break the record.

Food for thought: What if the Jewish side of her heritage gravitated towards her like the Native American side has?

I think you're confusing the All-Star game with the post season All-WNBA teams.

No, I think the All-Star game should have the best players on the court because it is a show-case for women's basketball. A fan who may not be as familiar with the league may think that IS the best talent in the league when it is not.

We already mentioned that Griner was voted in last year when she was having a bad start...

I've never argued that Griner should have be an All-Star last year.

Soon-to-be All-Star Shamel had an amazing stat line tonight with 0 points, 0 rebounds and 0 assists. However to her credit, she did have a block.

I think the All-Star game is for the fans that have supported the WNBA. The players and observant fans know who the best players are. This draws interest by letting the fans vote for their favorite players and anything that brings them to the games and helps promote the WNBA and women's basketball is fine with me.
