It's basically a popularity contest for the fans.
Well I love Bria and Stephanie but as I said about Shoni they are not deserving of an all star. The only reason I responded to the post was that the original post said that someone was going to vote for Schimmel even though she isn't a starter and would vote every day for them. Skylar does definitely deserve that adulation. Shoni has started the first few games but after the dream lost so many games they went back to last years starters and ended up in first. It's great that theWNBA has such great athletes as Shoni to promote but sometimes other more deserving players are left to hang out to dry at the expense of promoting the league. Shoni has had great games and she also has had her 4 turnovers one for six shooting nights too. Solar Diggins and latte are most deserving.[/QUOTE
Popularity contest for the fans, people. It's who the fans want to see in the game.
It may be good for the WNBA too since more people will tune in to watch the game. Maybe they'll keep watching regular season games.
Based on past All-Star games that would probably be a small group as well.A small group of fans that stuffed the ballot box will be inclined to tune in. The other fans may stay away instead of watching players who didn't make the game based on performance.
I think you're confusing the All-Star game with the post season All-WNBA teams.Exactly. There is no way Shoni belongs on that team. There are many players more deserving.

We already mentioned that Griner was voted in last year when she was having a bad start...No, I think the All-Star game should have the best players on the court because it is a show-case for women's basketball. A fan who may not be as familiar with the league may think that IS the best talent in the league when it is not.
