I had a Blessing and we lit a candle for KML at Mass today

Our Pastor knew of her injury and he asked for the prayers for KML and he gave her his blessing. Then, we lit a candle for her and her speedy recovery......

I went to the church of the internet and looked up elbow injuries and now hope it was a simple dislocation which self reduced or was easily put back in place with no ligament/nerve etc. involvement.

I learned that I am too invested in our women. I always think they are are such remarkable human beings even though I know
we see only their best side. I (as all of us) was stunned when we heard KML cry out. The silence in the arena was deafening and spoke to the fact that
it was not just one of our players who went down. It was almost as if it were one of our family.

In retrospect and in reality, no matter what the outcome, KML will have a "standout" life.

I was thinking similar things...we invest a lot of positive emotion into these kids. I think about my own young daughter and can't help but hope she has a whiff of their perseverance and determination in life. The clearly are not substitute kids, but now and again they feel a little bit like it. You can't help but want them to succeed and cringe when they hurt.

KML is so good I expect her back very soon with a keen ability to shoot one-armed. And she will be great at it.
