Rodney Purvis
8.3 PPG
44.2% FG%
38.5% 3P%
51.2% FT%

I will point out that I'm super excited for him to be in action next season. He looks extremely aggressive and very quick. All the more reason to make sure that percentage improves.

'Really quick' is an understatement for him.

At one point in his freshman year highlight video, when playing against UConn, Purvis gets the ball in transition with Boat the only one who could stop him... and he OUTRAN Boatright. That's saying something.

Quick funny Rodney Purvis story: I was having wings one night in November at Red Rock about a mile from campus. Rodney and Deandre sat down next to me. We watched some college hoop on TV and talked hoops. I asked him how good UConn would be with Rodney Purvis onthis year's squad. After a quick smile, he said "I don't know. but we are real good already". He had already bought in, and is going to be a stud next season. I expect that free throw % to go up at least 15-20 points.

It worked with this team. Guys like Samuel and Kromah were pretty bad at the start of the year, then they were perfect in the NCAA Tourney (with some pressure ones). Boat became automatic, breaking his habit of splitting two late all the time.

But if it worked for everyone, it would be used by everyone. I'm sure Purvis will be better than 51, but he probably won't be as automatic as this team was.

I don't think I've ever seen a guy shoot only 13% lower beyond the arc than at the foul line. One of those numbers has to be a fluke, and I really hope it's the latter.

Although, from what I've heard about his game, and the fact that he's more of a slasher than a shooter, I'm surprised that he's a 39% shooter from deep. If he and Boat can keep up that percentage, we're going to have one hell of an offense, with the ability to beat defenses off the bounce and in spot-up situations.
