A clean sweep is needed.

Let's say Deleone goes after this year. Assume another mediocre year next year with a new OC and a new philosophy. Then HCPP goes.

New guy comes in with his own staff, including a new OC. In this scenario, it's three OC's in three years and that is a recipe for continued mediocrity.

Sometime, you just have to be bold.

And yes, I was that petulant child who showed up yesterday at the Rent with my tail between my legs. However, what I saw yesterday provided no glimmer of optimism for the future. Our tailgate, however, kicked ass.

This mess is more than just the OC. It's all on P. All those lousy tackles on D are on P. I don't get the feeling P is getting the best out of these guys.

I will wait until the season is over to come to a definitive conclusion, but a lot has to happen for me not to come to the same conclusion.

Unless there is some major turnaround by the offense - I hope there is but not counting on it - I expect Warde will tell PP to get a new offensive coordinator. And PP, being the honorable old-school guy he is, will probably say something like "if he goes I go". That's when things get interesting. Consensus on this board is no way PP gets fired after two years because of buyout, etc. But if PP doesn't obey direct order from the boss. . . .well, Herbst has already shown she's not afraid to spend money even if it will draw criticism (campus beautification, etc.).

This years schedule was set up to be minimum 4-1 at this point. Could easily be 5-0 with any kind of points in the NC State game.

We're 3-2 and we've played no one of note. That speaks volumes about P and GD and about the "offensive" side of the ball to date.

I was there last year but recognized I was being too impatient. I'm there right now and I think we have a big enough sample size

I'm sure loss of ticket revenue also factors into the buyout equation. If attendance declines by keeping HCPP, then the buyout is no longer so cost prohibitive.

That's why you seperate P and D from UConn football.
