Yeah and I kind of just hit him on the radio issue but in a calm way after welcoming. Actually it's good that he is receptive to feedback through social media to get a feel for the fans perspective. I would expect he doesn't have time to respond or maybe even read it all but maybe an assistant will filter and pass through anything useful.

I have a friend who knows Dave Benedict from past business dealings with Auburn athletics and said that the guy is an absolute legend and a home run hire--a guy who absolutely has the juice/connections to help us in realignment.

He DEFINITELY negotiated SOME deal with Under Armour:
http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2015/10/auburn_extends_apparel_deal_wi.html
From Article:
Auburn and Under Armour have extended their apparel partnership through June 2025.

Auburn's deal is worth $78.1 million over the next nine years at an average of $8.68 million per year, making it the third-largest apparel deal in the country, according to data compiled by AL.com.

The deal includes a base compensation worth $22.5 million, and a product and apparel total worth $40.5 million over the life of the deal. Auburn will also be provided $10 million in stock in the company, $4.5 million in royalties and $675,000 in marketing.

Auburn's deal is the largest in the SEC. Notre Dame leads the way nationally at $9 million per year over the next 10 years in its newly-minted deal with Under Armour. Michigan is set to earn between $10.1 million and $10.9 million in its new deal with Nike over the next 15 years, according to reports.

The deal will cover all 21 sports at Auburn. Under Armour has signed deals with 13 schools across the country, including two of the top three lucrative deals in the country.

As an example of Benedict’s leadership in their school release, UConn officials pointed to Benedict being in charge of the current feasibility study on the renovations to Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium where Auburn estimates a $150-180 cost. However, officials have told The Montgomery Advertiser that an exact figure is still unknown at this time and Jacobs said in January he wasn’t sure the project was still a viable move for the university. Benedict was the lead negotiator on a nine-year, $78.1 million extension with Under Armour that included product, cash and $10 million worth of stock in the company. However, weeks later Wisconsin’s 10-year deal with Under Armour netted their school nearly $18 million more total and just over $1.6 million more per year.

Under Armour paid a premium for Wisconsin to pry Alvarez away from Adidas. So Auburn is now the 4th largest deal instead of the 3rd largest? Shoot him.;)

I looked up Wisconsin's deal on line in at least 5 spots...I can't see where they got the stock option Auburn got. That is HUGE

Your friend isn't a CT HS coach, is he?
SNOOOOOZE Alert!! BORING. That horse has been beaten to death. Like em or hate em those CT high school coaches are the only ones coaching up whatever future D-1 talent this state can scrape together. So unless you have a plan to replace them with a more user/UConn friendly alternative I'd say you can catch more bees with honey than vinegar. Constantly crapping on them from the UConn side of the ledger is counter-productive.

We gave them honey and it torpedoed the program.

Even if Wisky got a better deal than Auburn, so what? Wisconsin Athletics is a more valuable commodity than Auburn Athletics anyway.

And I'm saying that to the article writer, not you.

There are plenty of high school coaches that stay out of the politics of college ball and keep to themselves, their school and their programs. This is usually best for everyone.
