s-7

x-was better/bigger/stronger in the trenches and ran all day, but also threw pretty well. complete team imo!
s-without nick kelly and the 50pt rule they dont score and lose by 60.

How's that FCIAC working out for you? Can't even be competitive....
Eating crow tonight. SCC was great this year. I will point out though that until tonight, New Canaan had beaten Hand for the past two years and Staples beat Xavier 2 years ago. Goes in cycles.

Staples was no match for Xavier at all. SCC>fciac. Really hope UConn looks at Boyle as a qb for next years recruiting class.

I'll bet someone's recruiting Ryan Murphy of Xavier and Kelly of Staples.

FCIAC is a stronger conference year in and year out in Football. Just two bad losses in the finals this year.

However, I'm very happy to hear Staples got wrecked!

The FCIAC is not stronger year in and out. As Rob and I have said these things are cyclical. If you think the FCIAC was stronger this year, what's your proof?

You have to give credit to the SCC this year, they were the better conf this year, but in a down year for the FCIAC (St Joes, New Canaan, Staples, Darien, and Greenwich were gutted by graduation last spring) putting 4 teams in the playoffs and two in the L and LL finals is pretty impressive. I mean people forget that New Canaan beat Hand in their 3 previous meetings, and the last team to beat Xavier was Staples 2 years ago. That being said, this Xavier squad is one of the better state champs in recent state history. Maybe not as good as Bloomfield in 1998, or New Canaan 1969, Trumbull 1986, Fitch 1976, Ludlowe 1961, or West Haven 1968, but definitely the most dominant state champ in any division since 2008. What's up with Greenwich JaYnYcE? Have not seen them in the final state top 10 since 2008? Hey BTW did Sean Mulcahy (Staples) kill his brothers cat?

As mentioned in another "thread," the top teams in the FCIAC were very small; dependent on speed, qickness.
Yes that's true compared to prior years, they were small this year.
