Just a big no to expanding the already bloated UCONN athletic department and adding Lacrosse. For God sakes the season starts in February and ends in April, do they play on skis?

Nobody will be going and nobody cares other than a few high school kids looking for a free ride somewhere (sorry, not a good enough reason).

By any chance - did you listen to Benedict’s response to the question before posting?

I did and thankfully he for the most part shot it down by saying "its complicated" I'm just adding my two cents for the kid who asked the question, he seems to think its a good idea, he's wrong. UCONN has already invested in a better version of lacrosse its called hockey.

I'd venture a guess they can inquire of top 25 programs Yale, Penn State, Penn, Cornell, Army, Denver, UMass, Nova, Air Force, Lehigh, or Rutgers how they do it.

Dome the Rent. Problem solved.

But then the lacrosse fans would complain that the lacrosse stadium wasn't built on campus.
Just put a few chairs in Burton for the spectator(s) for February and March. It’s already on campus.

Benedict's interviews are Zzzzzz. Says nothing interesting or memorable. No news.

Couldn't the athletic dept cheerleader conducting the interview have asked some questions about an independent schedule and possible opponents after Benedict said he thought going the independent route for football was the best option going forward????

Geez

In his defense, even had he asked it, Benedict would have given a bland unspecific answer.

No Lacrosse? I hope they'll add it. UHart plays it. USF is thinking of adding it, since it is growing in Florida.

We should have lacrosse. However, we should cut other things to get it. Some sports just aren’t worth the financial commitment.

Lacrosse is a pretty big deal and it is rapidly growing. More importantly, CT is a hotbed. There are Class S schools like Somers that can take good big schools to the woodshed. UConn would recruit incredibly well. The whole state has talent.

We might have to cut some sports, but we need to have it. I'd would love to have the first LAX game between UConn and Duke and a rivalry with UHart...

The same way baseball does.

I would love to have LAX at UConn and think it would be a win for the state overall. Though it would be nice if the Gold coast could foot the bill or help

Someone needs to ask him why he thinks it's acceptable to wear a blazer with a polo underneath, especially when the top button of the polo is buttoned. Absurd look

Only way LAX is coming to UCONN is through donations.
