As of today OUR UCONN Huskies are being attacked from all media outlets, culminating with Seth Davis's piece on how he predicts UCONN's future will be more like the days of the pre-Calhoun era (still can't believe he gets paid for his "journalism"; he's a complete moron). Worst off the NCAA seems determined to continue to screw OUR huskies. Not gonna go list all of the stuff they have done in the past year alone bc most here are all too aware. The president of the NCAA has a personal vendetta against the school. We are still mired in the conference confusion/clusterphuck. Our leader, who has been there to guide us for the past 26 years, and who has done more to raise the prominence and prestige of a college basketball program then any other coach in the history of basketball, Jim Calhoun, is in extreme physical pain battling a terrible disease, and is still trying to do his best to get back to coaching and set a greater future for program. The players on the team have been going through a very disappointing season in terms of expectations and execution, yet they gave it their all last Saturday, with no better example then Drummond who came back into the game on a noticeable limp risking further injury to his body (this is a consensus top 3 pick whenever he decides to enter the draft deciding to risk further injury).
This is the time were we step in, as a whole, as The Husky Nation. We cannot continue to demand more from the players, administration, and coaches without giving all of our best to help punch back at all those who are trying to bring OUR school down. WE are UCONN! It's not just the players and coaches, but its also the students, and us the fans. This a very proud fan base because of the schools amazing accomplishments in the past two decades with not just the men's basketball program, but because of the amazing accomplishments of the women's program and the rapid rise of the football program, our powerhouse soccer program, last years record setting baseball program. Not to mention our rapid rise as an academic institution, we are a top 20 public university in the nation and continue to be on the rise! We are a proud fan base because we expect greatness from our school's athletic programs and we expect greatness b/c we have achieved it in the past and know we can sustain it.
Now that UCONN has recently hit obstacle after obstacle, when non-Husky journalists ( or biased fans acting as journalists) are all over our recent woes its time we fans bring our all. For those who can contribute financially and haven't lets pull those checks out, for those who can't lets start wearing our UCONN jerseys as often as we can, lets hang our Husky flags and banners so all your neighbors can see them, lets buy husky stickers and place them on our cars. Lets, as fans, whether your living in CT, or in any part of the US (or world now a days) show how much pride we have as members of the Husky Nation. As fans attending games lets go buck wild. Lets not just sit on our a$$es and clap but lets get up and start making some real noise noise, lets start showing the inner roscoe that everyone has, whether your a sheepish 40 year old soccer mom or a belligerently drunk college student. For those on twitter lets start giving positive vibes and comments to the players through this rough stretch and give he!! to those clueless "basketball experts" who want to bag on the huskys while they are down. Lets flipping wake up and show what it means to be a husky! we can complain all we want on this forum (I have myself as well) but thats not gonna help in anyway. Now is when the players, the coaches and the school needs us most. The huskies have given us soo much these past two decades lets give them our all in the next two months
