What does that mean. Play Brendan Adams over CV or Jalen? Seems like we're playing the young guys elsewhere.

I think it would mean somehow maximizing minutes for guys like Wilson, Polley, Whalley, B Adams, Carlton & Diarra (when/if he returns this season) with cutting back somewhat on minutes for JA, Tarin & CV (the eye test to me shows that CV is more engaged in games for longer periods of time than JA & CV is back next year unless he leaves early. Tough spot to be in.....

I dont understand the sentiment at all.

We don't gain anything from going young. We will just get embarrassed this year. Hurley needs to win games to show progress from Ollie.

We do need to play Sid and BA more, but outside of that, what is the advantage?

Whaley and Carlton will not benefit from more minutes IMO.

Some people probably won't like this but it's one of the things I love about Hurley, he's extremely candid and won't give you the politicians response.

He knows there is no getting through to Jalen and the frontcourt is a disaster. It's unfrotunate that outside of playing Alterique and Sid all of the minutes and giving Brendan Adams a much bigger roll there isn't all that much he can do for the future. I guess play Josh the whole game but we all know how that'll go.

Kind of a weird statement considering we now have only 10 active players...........everybody will get minutes if they have a pulse.

He has to show his progress in the next few years and it doesn't have to all come this year. Getting the younger guys minutes and playing less of Smith, Cobb, and even J. Adams is a way build for the next 2-3 years.

I assume its more of B. Adams and Wilson and less of Smith and Cobb.
Somehow I don't see Wilson playing the 5 spot for Cobb. Yes Wilson will get minutes but Cobb has to play the 5 with Carlton otherwise someone might get killed.

new and improved(?) lineup:

gilbert
vital---b.adams
wilson-whaley
polley-diarra
carlton
Man people like this I can’t stand. We got beaten easily by USF with Jalen, scoring 25 and being outright out best player, and you wanna take him out of the lineup? Look, I understand he hasn’t been near the second coming of Kemba or Bazz or whoever that a lot of us expected, but this kid has been loyal to the program and single-handedly won us a lot of games. Take him out of the rotation and you know what we get? A whole lot more of Arkansas and Auburn games.

Jalen has been a disaster for the team this year. If you think these 20 point performances by him are really doing anything towards the team winning and improving I don't know what to tell you.

I think we have a different definition of the word “disaster”. Take him out of the rotation, then you’ll see what a disaster is, I can assure you that.

Can you unpack that last thoughts? I’m curious why you think that. Especially for Whaley. Carlton will get plenty of run if he does what he’s supposed to anyway.

Maybe Hurley wants to help KO get a job. If KO can point to UConn going 2-16 in league and 11-20 overall, after the addition of Alterique and Sid and his replacement with Hurley, his coaching resume doesn't look so bad.

I get what Hurley is doing here and I think he's trying to light a fire under certain players and isn't actually at the point of blowing it up this season, quite yet. It's one game into the conference schedule. He's sending a message let's see if certain players respond
