Love you Dan. Wouldn't trade you for anybody. On this board, I'm a huge advocate for everything you do

Butt Stop

If Tom allows it, I'm going to start a new tradition on gameday. I'm going to shitpost the team in the hope that Hurley sees it in order to rile up the team.

Come to think of it, maybe I'm slow on the take and some people have already been doing that for years.

There is zero anyone here should be complaining about with Hurley. The guy is a treasure. The Maui antics hit a point of negative national attention that were lightly concerning on reputational risk, which only worries me with stuff like negative recruiting. But he’s been great in being smart enough to dial that back. Keep it rolling Danny!!

Dan, get off social media day of game, please

The quote was stupid. Not so much because he may have said it. More because it's been repeated as if this was on his mind as he prepared for and coached the actual game.

You'd have to get in line. You wouldn't be top 100 of posters wanting to post negative crap before a game.

To me it seemed such an innocuous thing for people to tweet. People always want the king to be taken down a notch. Lots of people taking nasty shots at him personally, and stating a fact about our historic struggles in our first Big East games seems minor in comparison. I think he'd be better served going after those haters, or better yet, ignoring the haters all together or at least publicly.

Hurley has reached a point where all of his postgame comments go viral and opposing fanbases pick up on them and think he's being serious when it's just his sarcastic nature
Many opposing fans clearly dislike Hurley and call him a crybaby and whiner. Forget them.

Did you hear his comments after getting his 300th win? About how his HS wins should count also? Was like 30 seconds of nonsense ranting. It is ridiculous, but highly entertaining. His press conferences are must see TV.

Danny tends to do a lot of shooting from the hip up at the podium, with little filter. I honestly appreciate the authenticity.

So, what do you want? Do you want a coach like Sean Miller at the postgame presser, just sitting there with his hands calmly folded in front of him, systematically assessing the game, his team, his opponent -- or do you want a coach like Dan Hurley, literally jumping out of his skin, scratching at a thousand real or imaginary itches, cupping his hand repeatedly over the top of his head and the back of his head as if to hold his skull together, rattling off disjointed comments as they occur to him. I mean, do I even have to ask?

I like a little crazy. Hell - I even would have loved Bob Diaco's crazy - if he actually won anything LMAO

If Bob Diaco won everyone would say he is so eccentric and vibrant per his press conferences. When he lost like he did, his press conference soundbites made others label him as clueless and mentally obtuse.

Diaco would have needed to win at a Jim Calhoun level to make it worth dealing with his level of crazy.

One of the most fun aspects of the BE currently is the absolute caracitures of personalities that we have with the coaches.

Dan Hurley is eccentric and passionate, Sean Miller has that super analytic straight edge thing going, Pitino is... well, Pitino... lol, Shaka has his love and relationship kumbaya thing, Cooley and his drama going from PC to Georgetown / from good guy to evil, Kim English is like a kid with the things he says sometimes and he gets into the rivalries and fanning conflict! I mean, come on, who doesn't love this stuff??

Couldn’t agree more. Bringing Holtman in helped shore the one dead sore up.

English was one guy who had he came in and really got the PC team thriving, wondered if he would stick. That doesn’t look to be a problem anymore and he can now grow with that program. The fanbase is turning on him a little already.
