Just a thought to pass the time
We have been involved with top prospects and hear about them watching our tourney runs, building relationships with the coaches, having campus visits and watching practices, communicating with other players on social media and in person at events, and we know UConn produces videos for them. All the top programs are competing this way. @housekeys posted a Mark Jackson podcast interview of Dan Hurley in another thread which was very insightful. These kinds of interviews help everybody understand Hurley as a human being, the players he is looking for, his human vulnerabilities, etc. I doubt UConn is directing recruits to any of these types of candid open podcasts, but it would seem like a really good tool for recruits to learn 'Hurleyism' while not being 'pitched' per se. I haven't specifically heard a player say that he or his family have watched these types of interviews to learn more about Hurley & the program. He validates his sense of obligation to make players better, get them to the league, the pressure he feels to fulfill promises, the 6 day a week routines of his players, the priorities he wants to see in recruits and their families, etc A lot of ground is covered which would seem important to a recruit's decision. Has anybody stumbled on recruits referencing their interest being validated by any of the many candid public interviews Hurley has been doing, or is it been totally just their direct interface with the program?
