He must think Ross could offer more defensively and on the boards than Stewart, it wouldn’t make sense to take minutes from Ball or Liam, our only scoring options.

I think this might be a public plea from Hurley to Ross for him to give it one more year, he clearly liked Ross a lot going back to this pre season, maybe he’s just a year away from being a real dude.

We seem to have quite a few bench players that think they can magically blossom into starter level players with more playing time.

Is this Hurley reversing his emphasis on offense and moving back to defense and athleticism?

Maybe he's looking at all the offensive players he's recruited for next year and realizing he needs a defensive athlete to return. He might be concerned he'll lose Ross to the portal.

Based on productivity, Reed should absolutely be starting. That's the biggest misuse of this roster, imo.
When he's not in foul trouble, he's been getting the majority of the minutes lately, and has been the one on the floor at the end.

So these kids haven't taken it upon themselves to improve their games, and related, get stronger?

Sounds like a mentality issue

So who's minutes is he taking?

Imo Stewart hasn't looked great but better then Ross during the minutes he gets. Hell, there was 2 games this season where JStew scored like 9 unanswered but then went silent. I don't see Ross ever being able to get on an offensive stretch like that.

Ross over Stewart seems like a mistake.
