"We needed that time, I think for ourselves," Lou Lopez Sénéchal said. "We were focused on the team, who we really are, work on us mainly during those 10 days to be able to, you know, play (Saturday) the right way, and how the UConn team normally plays. Like we say, we want to bring the same team that we had during the Big East Tournament. I think the 10 days were beneficial to us ... physically, mentally, it was needed."

"Aubrey Griffin, who sat out the second half of the Big East Tournament championship with back spasms, has been able to take her time with treatment and recovery and not rush her return to practices. Auriemma said the redshirt junior just returned to practices on Thursday. When asked if she would be a full-go for Saturday's game, Griffin replied: "Yeah, for sure."
