The Liberty, to pull it gently, look pretty terrible. Just watching today I realized that no one on the Liberty would start for a lot of teams in the league aside from Ionescu who is out for most of the season. Most of their players wouldn't be rotation players on other teams.

Their roster is pretty much all rookies who were late first round or 2nd round draft picks, Kia Nurse who has really struggled early on, two 3pt specialist post players in Zahui B/Kiah Stokes who are 6-31 from deep so far, and Clarendon who appears to be the lone brightspot outside of Ionescu. So how many games do you think they win this year?

In theory they should improve as the season goes on but I'll be pretty surprised if they win more than 3 games this season considering Ionescu is missing a lot of it.

#1 draft pick two years in a row is one way to build a team.

2021 draft seems pretty barren to me.

Agreed. I dont know even know who would be the top pic? Renia Davis maybe unless you need a small PG (Evans, McDonald, or K. Williams).

I realize players have to do what’s correct for them but Carter could have been TAMU all time leading scorer and a NPOY candidate and a #1 pick. Walker too could have been a NPOY and a top draft pick and both with their degrees.

Kids gotta do what kids gotta do though.

Yeah, I guess that's true. Maybe someone will blow up this year (if there is a season).

I'm guessing Carter has already played more basketball with Atlanta than she would have gotten to with A&M any time in the year 2020. For that reason along, I think she made the right call. And she gets paid to boot!

But I'd sure love to be wrong about that.

Problem is they really need help in the front court. Back court looks pretty solid going forward with Ionescu, Clarendon, Nurse and Durr. C. Collier likely is the top pick if she continues to improve. 6-5 forward with 3pt range and good athleticism is hard to come by. Rennia Davis and Natasha Mack could also be good options for NY. I haven't seen much of Mack but from highlights she looks skilled and athletic with a good pro frame. Davis is more of a wing but has great range and her skill set/size should translate well to the WNBA.

Onyenwere is also intriguing but she's just too small to be a front court player in the W. She could become an excellent wing though.

Pretty dreadful looking draft though considering we had great ones in 2018/2019 and I think the 2020 rookie class is going to be pretty good too, largely because they poached all the best juniors like Walker, Carter and Sabally.

Isn’t Collier a junior this upcoming season? So she would have to declare early. Interesting.

Correct. Nelson-Ododa, Howard, Williams, and Smith are all too young to declare early. Not sure who else besides Collier is a potential early entrant.

Awak Kuier has a really high ceiling and already a developed skillset. She might prove worthy of a number one pick, especially in a down year.
