Hello all,

Unfortunately, I continue being unable to follow our beloved program. It is what it is. Lots of people have it worse. I think I see the proverbial "light at the end of the tunnel." We shall see.

I know only that Geno did not coach the last game, because, I think, he felt ill right before the game.

Do we know how he is doing? Pointing me to a relevant thread or to relevant information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

P.S. As we all do, I hope Paige comes back 100% with enough time to re-acclimate physically and spiritually to the team before March/April Madness. If she does, as we all know, who cares what our record or our seeding is. We have yet--with only a glimpse--see how Paige and Azzi (and Caroline Ducharme) mesh. If not, next year looks very, very promising--two bigs who are truly bigs. And AG back! And Nika. And who knows how Amari and AE may develop. We shall see.

Geno's okay. He was expected to be back tonight for the Butler game (which of course was cancelled). He should be back Sunday.

I worry about Geno's health as well. But in this last instance I have a feeling that it had more to do with an, uh, temporary intestinal issue than anything else. Just a guess.

He’s been treat for diverticulitis before. Just a flare up I’d guess.

As someone who’s about Geno’s age I can vouch for the fact that travel, combined with a change in sleep and diet can often lead to an unsettled digestive system. That’s why I always bring Imodium along for the trip.

Wait until you are 15 years past Geno's age. At times, you'll wish you needed Imodium. :(

Similarly and a little further afield, a few years ago a relative said to me "Now that you're 70 and active you probably need Viagra". I replied honestly, "No I need an antidote. Viagra would be like pouring gasoline on it".

Per Daniel Connolly - UCONN Blog
"“I kind of had a premonition that that first quarter was going to go the way it did. So I didn’t want to be carried out on a stretcher,” Auriemma quipped. I decided to stay in the locker room and save everybody the heartache — or not give everybody a chance to [celebrate].”..

Geno, I have said for over 10 years, shall coach until it is no longer fun. The game got to be less fun until this last game and the LIGHT came on for 4 or 6 players. If they can maintain that and Paige, with Caroline, Dorka, Muhl, and the new kids turn out ok next year, Geno will be around for a much longer while. Being around great kids who listen is addictive.
