How Great is UConn on the Road!

reading about how good the New England Patriots are in having almost exactly the same offensive and defensive numbers at home and on the road,

and thinking how UConn's young team won at Florida State, Notre Dame, and Maryland, where it's not only playing away, but against sell-out, completely psyched crowds. I recall some interviews where the kids said how cool it was to play before such crowds. What terrific psychological preparation and probably their greatest achievement of the season so far....what disciplined and focused kids.

FSU was a shocker, but as we've discussed, ait was also a good win over a top-10 team on the road. Maryland and ND were indeed terrific performances by UConn this season, both worthy of great praise.

That being said, I'm happy South Carolina is at home this season...

Uconn has been a really good road team for years - they own the two longest road win streaks and are tied for the third place one as well. They will likely blow the record which is 34 out of the water this year as well. (NCAA has confirmed that the 2000 era record was missing from the books so the ND/Uconn join record of 30 which this years team has broken was actually the second longest streak.)

There are a few other teams that have gotten past road struggles generally - Baylor, ND, and SC all perform very well on the road these days having previously had trouble playing those games.
