Big East and UConn preview article from Dave Borges. What do you think about his predicted finishes of the teams?

With that in mind, Hurley deserves the benefit of the doubt. Especially when he recently said: “We think, top to bottom, this could be our most talented roster.

Hurley laughed when reminded of that quote recently, jokingly saying he may want to walk that one back.

"There's probably more competition for spots," he told CT Insider. I would say last summer, you probably had a 99-percent idea of who the starters were going to be. Whereas with this group, it feels like there's going to be a lot more competition for spots. There's more viable players (this season)."

I'd have St John's ahead of Marquette and Villanova over Providence, but his list seems pretty good overall. I'd probably rank them in tiers like this

Final Four contenders: UConn, Creighton

2nd Weekend: St John's, Marquette

Tournament/Bubble: Xavier, Villanova

Won't Completely Suck: Providence, Butler, Seton Hall

Suck: Georgetown, DePaul

Reading the BY in Sep, Oct, and Nov 2023 certainly didn't sound like 99% agreement on who would be the 5 starters.

Georgetown has one winning season since 2015. How does this change?

I'll be shocked if Kyle Neptune can lead any roster over that of Kim English, especially with the roster pieces English added and the return of Bryce Hopkins.
I'm not doubting DH and UConn but these preseason rankings don't seem to pan out very often, especially the rankings of the players.

Hopkins is coming off a torn Achilles and the rest of their roster is terrible. Neptune is a terrible coach so Villanova is probably on the wrong side of the bubble, but Providence will be lucky to even be in the conversation
