Its crazy quite frankly. Tyler had zero rebounds. Wolf get some rebounds but he also gets fouls. Daniels will get some rebounds by jumping but he loses the horizontal position game. Our PG (Bazz) has more rebounds than our starting center (Tyler) this season.

I think the two bigs recruited for next year will get lots of minutes if they can rebound and block shots. Give KO credit for finding a formula that wins some games against conventional wisdom.

Calhoun is proving to be a player. I like his mental approach to the game. He also is a winner and comes from a great family

Thats my reaction.

What has happened to Olander? I get that he's not the most talented guy but give me a break, he has had several games with 0 rebounds. The guy is 6'9 and decently built how does he not grab a rebound in several games? His season averages are 4 & 4, I expected a bit more out of him.

TO gets a pass tonight because he had the flu. I know we all think these kids are machines but think about what you feel like when you have the flu and if you'd be able to play a basketball game.

That being said, TO has been awful this year. There's no way to dispute that.

Seriously, I've seen some of the cheerleaders grab more rebounds than Tyler just by being in the right place at the right time.

Of course, some are bigger than him but I digress...

55 to 24. -31. Need to include team rebounds plus the individual rebounds.
It's not that bad realistically. There were about 6-7 trips where PC got about 4-5 rebounds before scoring, or not. It all adds up. Really chippy, way too many fouls. Refs lost both teams early. Both announcers were PC homers and ESPN sux too. Glad we got a W.

I am speechless about that game. There is winning ugly, and there is what happened tonight.

"How do you win when you get out-rebounded by 31?"

You start by having 10 blocked shots, and getting the other team to turn it over 17 times to your 11. Then you shoot 50% to their 34%, and 52% on threes to their 21%.

You have to miss to even have an offensive rebound opportunity. PC had 43 offensive rebound opportunities compared to our 27 opportunities.

If I am the Providence AD, am I thinking "this guy gets +31 boards at home and still loses. He is a lost cause." about Cooley?

Maybe it was superior coaching. This is not a vintage UCONN team talent wise and yet they have only been blown out in one game and in that game they had the lead at halftime and had Napier get injured. IMO Ollie has had an outstanding year one to date.

Any win on the road in the Big East is a good win and Providence always gets up for UCONN.

The second part of this cannot be overstated. What was that quote they mentioned during the game, like how they view us as the "Evil Empire"? Every year, we are the biggest game of the year for Providence. When we go to the Dunk, it is their Super Bowl.

Michael Jordan dropped 35 on the Jazz to win an NBA Finals game with the flu. If he can put up an average Jordan game while being sick, surely TO can put up a average Olander game, right?

The better question is how do you out rebound a team by 28 and still lose? The collective Providence College head must be spinning.

I just looked at the box score and PC only had 18 second chance points. On 28 offensive rebounds. That ratio outright sucks. It's nice to get offensive rebounds but if they don't help you score on the possession then they aren't worth much.

I agree with you. This was a hard game to watch. At half time we led by one but I was thinking that we are going to lose by double figures. We weren't just getting out rebounded we were getting out hustled. Providence was getting every loose ball. But Ollie made some adjustments and pulled off another win. This team has a mental toughness that is obvious at the end of games. We have not lost a game that we should have won and we have won some that we should not have based on our relatively weak front court. Clearly Daniels and Calhoun are getting better and I think that the glass is half full.

It was like bowling in the lane. Countless times in the first-half they came crashing in/over a UConn player, ultimately dislodging the ball and getting the rebound. This wasn't the case for every rebound but more than I can remember.

Lol. I was waiting for someone to bring up MJ.

He wasn't too far off his average.
