How do we become a #5 seed in the AAC tourney even with a loss verse Cincy?

The announcer stated that we could still receive the #5 seed in the AAC tourney even with a loss against Cincy?

Does anyone know how?
 
Impossible. memphis has the tie breaker and so does tulsa who will win to get to 9-9 too. 7 seed and vs tulane for uconn.
 
Which means Cincy waits again in the next round. Awesome.

How does Memphis have the tiebreaker, 1-1 on the season, I guess comparable games?
 
No chance, with a loss. We lose tiebreaker to Tulsa (1-0 head to head), and also to Memphis. We were 1-1 with them, but they split with Houston and we were 0-2.
 
I think UConn gets the 6 seed if Tulane beats Tulsa. Tulane is currently beating Tulsa 39-29 in the 1st half. Would much rather play Houston than Cincinatti in the second game.

Can also get 5 if Tulsa loses and ECU somehow beats Houston. Right now ECU is actually up in Houston late I the first...
 
How is that possible, a 5? SMU, Cincy, UCF (ugh) and Houston all have more wins and memphis wins the tie breaker, giving them the 5...
 
With Tulsa losing, UConn is the 6 seed. USF, then Houston, then most likely Cincy and SMU. Late games on Thursday and Friday.

It is still going to be a tall order unless we can somehow get Adams, Vital and Jackson really healthy in 3 days. That being said, if you had the bye as the 5 seed you have to beat UCF who is red hot lately, and then SMU the next day, who may be playing some of the best ball in the country.

I can see UCONN beating USF and then beating Houston behind a good crowd on Friday night. After that we may need a miracle! :)
 
Who knows whether we can even best Houston. But I'd much rather have it this way where we can build up some momentum with 2 wins going into playing Cincinnati.

But most importantly let's best USF by 40 Thursday night and go from there
 
so we got the 6? and are playing at 8 pm thursday against USF... we win we play houston... we win we play cinci

Agreed. Momentum and confidence. Getting the guys all healthy and picking up that first win against USF could get the ball rolling again...
 
We need upsets. Getting through the top 2-3 teams on consecutive days with this depleted roster would be nothing short of miraculous.

But yes, we got a good bracket for our seeding.
