Great observation.

And we were 4-17from three.

Our defense was very good. And our heart was very big.
It was crazy good. They just couldn’t pass the ball very reminiscent of the 14 tourney when boat would take the ball handler right at half court and kill him from the bottom. Had that feel. This was just all effort. That was a great plan with a great player. Boat was the face of the on ball d with brimah back there to swat

It seemed like, and Hurley mentioned it, that a lot of their offensive rebounds happened on a single possession where they would get four or three offensive rebounds on a single attack.

And then on the 4th rebound the ball would go out of bounds.

Don't even think it was bad decisions either. Gresham had one wide open dunk he passed up bit the rest I think were contested rebounds

They had at least 3 sequences in the second half where they had 3 or 4 offensive rebounds. Our guys were trying but the ball was bouncing outside the lane often and we could not get a handle on it.

Here's another stat.

Houston had 71 shots to just 48 for UConn. What does that tell yu about our improvement in offensive efficiency?

Foul shots win you ball games.

But only 2 second chance points. How does that happen? UConn only had 4 offensive rebounds, but 9 second chance points. Might be the stat of the game. Besides 77-71 of course.

I need to watch a replay to verify, but I seem to remember two separate possessions where they had 3 or 4 shots without scoring and one where it took them 4 shots to score.

Offensive rebounds are usually deadly, because the putback is almost always an open inside shot and they often result in a defensive foul. Good job by the interior defense to keep the damage from Houston's offensive rebounding to a minimum.
