Been reading the Gator Boards. They are giving us no chance but quite a few of them
have the Zags taking out Houston. Not sure the logic. They claim we are not athletic
and their guards and bigs will kill our crew. I hope our heroes come out fired up and
let them see the hearts of champions. In 2014 they were heavy favorites and
Bazz, Daniels and Boatwright let them know right away that we didn't care what their
seeding said. I know Danny and the coaching staff will cook up a good plan to slow
them down and make the game a rock fight. We are playing with House Money now!
Hoping we continue on the journey. THREEPEAT!

Im hoping they realize they’ve been written off and come out playing with a chip and nothing to lose mentality. Liam has been really bad and his demeanor has regressed from early season. There should be zero pressure

Hurley has to have them fired up. Can't come out treading water. May not have enough weapons to overcome a 10 point deficit.

Not as pathetic as your posts lately.
True, but he still makes a fair point. We are the back to back national champions and we aresatisfied with winning a single game in the NCAA tournament? I don't think so! I will say, I definitely did not want to lose this game, no doubt about that, but I still want to win the whole freaking thing. The...whole...freaking...thing.

So yeah, Florida is a tough team, but a great thing about the NCAA tournament is you beat the number one seed, effectively you become the number one seed. Just worry about the next game and everything will take care of itself.

I can't really disagree. OU had us locked up for extended periods trying to escape screens. Florida is quicker and with greater wingspans than OU. Samson has to play the game of his life to keep this close. No stupid fouls. Maybe even matador a couple to stay on the floor in spots.

How pathetic that we win one game in the tourney and now we are playing with “house money”
It was a "down year", every team has them...Kansas, unc, even duke. There were a few issues that kept uconn away from having to play with house money, but oh well. It's not a bad thing, it just speaks towards how difficult it is to be at the top consistently and UConn is already better than +99% at that.

Exactly. And this is what a UConn down year should look like. Not losing-to-Wagner down.

Practice gratefulness, people!

Of course it's house $. We have zero to lose, all pressure on them.

What is scary for any opponent of ours is that we are highly skilled and wildly inconsistent but dangerous as heck. You don't know which Uconn will show up on Sunday. Yesterday's version of Uconn loses to FL by 20+. No question we can beat FL if our 3 point shooters show up along with good defense.

Here's hoping their players read those boards and believe how easy it will be or get thinking about playing carefully so as not to get hurt............like happened to us one time.

2014 is a good analogy. FL had a dominant front line and got out to the big early lead but what happened after we settled down was something we'll never forget!

But first, how about a trip down memory lane. Watch this clip of highlights from 21:40 on in the Final Eight game. It starts at the end of the first half with Barkley touting Michigan St. and Raftery mentioning how Mich. St. ended the half on a 9-0 run. If you don't remember, the Garden was bedlam, especially at the end of the game and what stood out to me was the FT shooting, the ability of Napier and Boatright to create shots, the number of alley oops to Daniels and how much Nolan played.

The highlights then go on to the FL game starting with a clip showing Napier's buzzer beater at Gampel in December that was Florida's last loss until the Final Four.

This will be the third thread I've posted this:

I guess we're supposed to be scared.

We had a lot of fouls yesterday and not one of those played.
Can Hurley at least weave some bridge minutes together for Ross, Nowell and even Singare. Especially if we get in foul trouble.

Let’s act like we’re losing by double digits to start the game. Hurley needs to get our guys mad.

House money is when you have won so much and you are expected to stop winning like a casino wanting you back and comping you a room and some chips.

Much has been said about this team being devoid of 3 NBA players, so expectations are low and playing Florida where our reputation (e.g., 2 nattys and 13-0 roll) are weapons we do not have to man.

Any run we go on vs Florida like a 9-0 run does get house money in terms of their psychology. Announcers will say more then but it will not define the entire game.

I wouldn’t quite say ”house money” but the pressure is on the #1 seed that’s for sure.

What we did last night was no upset regardless of how the talking heads made it sound like we were doomed to be ”one and done.”

I am going with “battle tested” And frankly what arena away from home did we NOT walk into where the other team wanted to beat us so they could say they beat the defending national champion?

Dang, i.e Seton Hall - that was a once in a thousand performance for that sorry team LOL we made their dream come true.

But I think those days are over and Florida will encounter a junkyard dog, one they might not have seen thus far this year.

They are the pretty boys.

We are the banged up and tested and feeling disrespected.

Let’s get it on!

Win or lose, I just want UConn to give it their all-I don't want a repeat of the 2016 team. The 2016 season, was disappointing on many levels because I thought with the talent they had they should have been better than a 9 seed. But even with the 9 seed what disappointed me the most was the ending of that season when they had "house money" going against #1 Kansas in the 2nd round and they didn't play like it. They were in a 24 point deficit early and really had no chance of winning that game.

Getting blown out would be bad. Losing close would only lament the bad losses in Maui and Newark that landed us an 8 seed. Winning means a successful season and further advancement is gravy.

Winning would also scare the bejeezus out of anyone left in our path. The media narrative would change before the on court post-game interview.
