  1. Around 15:09 in the 1st half, When AJax pulled down a defensive rebound it looked like he was shoulder high to the rim. He caame down with the ball and started a break that ended with a Karaban 3 off a Newton assist.
  2. At about 9:20 mark, Joey sold a foul when the Dstate guy had his hand on Joey's chest. Calcaterra stepped forward and leaned back so the guy's hand slid to his throat, while Joey waved his arms wildly until the ref couldn't ignore it any more and blew his whistle.
  3. Hawkins shot wasn't on, but he led us in rebounding, with 9 and chipped in 3 dimes and 2 blocks on top of his 11 points.
  4. JoeyC's shot was falling (4 of 6, including 3 of 5 from three). He added a team leading 6 assists, 5 boards and a steal. Might have been a better effort than his 16 point outburst against Buffalo
  5. Twenty-five assists for the team tonight. Five out of every seven hoops we made came on an assist.
  6. Thought Adama's best play of the game was right after making a three, he faked one from the same spot, and looked like a 6-4 guard using the fake to set up a spin move past his defender and putting up a nice little floater for two.
  7. Clingan had a productive 16 minutes with 16 points on 7 of 9 shooting, 5 boards, a couple steals and 3 blocks. Dstate's strategy aganst him seemed to be having everybody within range swing away at his forearms and wrists whenever he had the ball.
  8. According to the box score, our last score came at 3:15. End of the game, end of the bench guys or not, that's a long dry spell.
  9. None of the end-of-the-bench guys made a mark on the box score sheet except for a miss by Hurley and one foul on Romoglou.
  10. Sure hope we're ready for Oregon.

11. AJ needs to learn how to contain his excitement, energy and speed. He looks like Usain Bolt out there, and then can't stop when he gets near an opponent (sans fouls). I hope its just excitement about being able to get back on the court and help his teammates and will work itself out. It could be me though, in that he makes me tired (and feeling old) just watching him. Hell he makes Rip look like a sloth.

Anyway the kid certainly will have a speed advantage and will tire out his opponents, he just needs to put some gum on his shoes. I suspect better opponents will also help his pace.

Our depth will be tested over 3-4 days but Hurley has answers with many possible players being any game’s star. Regardless of the win loss outcome we have promise this season. Clingan’ s production for 15-16 minutes a game has been crazy good. It feels like he’s playing more than he actually is.
Can’t hit a 3? Bring in Joey C.

1. Somewhere in the first half Karaban had a beautiful box out on a Del St. shot. Ref called him for a foul. Karabam looked at ref in disbelief. I honestly think it had been so long since ref had seen a box out he didn't know what it was and called a foul.

2. Sometime in the first half Clingan got a step behind his man while his man was cutting and DC turned his back to chase him down. The Del St player basically used DC as a moving pick and drive to the basket, then in to DC and got the foul called.

Just totally guessing but maybe the scoring dry spell at the end of the game was a result of the staff not particularly wanting to hit the 100-point mark.

In real time i was thinking, wow, AK has great position there - nice job. And he got called for the foul.

The kids still want to score. Play got awfully sloppy after the Under 4:00 timeout.

It was 95-53 with 3:30 left. Alleyne missed the front end of his 1-and-1, and Hurley was T'ed up (I didn't see why. From the opposite end of the court, it looked like they were just having a conversation. "Crash must've called him a c**ksucker."). Newton turned the ball over on their next possession. Then Diarra missed a 3 and turned the ball over on their next two possessions. UConn emptied the bench after that.

Alleyne had two terrific Alley(ne) oops to Clingan. Haven’t seen anything that good since DHam to Brimah.

That scenario would be more likely against a BE opponent because the opponent would have to be faced again and then would be given an impetus to play better the next time.

In a high scoring close game, above would not apply.
