Love the song:

I have the music playing in my head and the words (so appropriate) go perfectly.

Nice job! Very creative and clever.

quote="RioDog, post: 460942, member: 1138"]Easy fellas, he´s really a secret agent monitoring the Chi-Coms for Obama.

'Ward´s a man who leads a life of danger...'
To every conference change he is a stranger...
With every move they make, he monitors a steak
Odds are we won´t live see tommorow.

Se-cret AD Man, Secret AD Man
Well UConn's days are numbered
And we don't know his plan...

Haha. My guess is he's doing something a little higher level than negotiating volume discounts on football. I don't know. But you don't either. I'd say let's find out some facts instead of speculating and applying your (apparently non-productive) business travel experience to someone else's job, but a) they're probably not going to release too many details of the actual important meetings b) even if they do you'll no doubt use it to somehow support your pre-existing conclusions. You're probably right that there will be a bunch of unnecessary ceremony and backslapping. That doesn't preclude the mere possibility that there could be something positive for UConn as well. I'll speculate that there will be other ADs and representatives from other Nike schools there. It might be a good environment to get some intel, make new contacts and maybe lay the groundwork for some conference realignment moves. Or talking to those people might identify some new candidates for football coordinators. But you'd rather he not do that because that would involve kissing, I guess. Yes I am speculating and making * up but so are you.
I love guessing games! Let me go next! Um, I guess that he's on a junket to designed to generate brand loyalty to Nike and that no tangible benefit will come of it other than China restaurants receiving a substantial boost in revenue during the period he's in country. I guess.

Are you really dumb enough to think that Geno's contract is at some sort of cliffhanging impasse that requires our athletic director to sit and stare at one particular phone just in case it rings?

Honestly, the chick hoops guy is a dolt, but you're a garden-variety genius if you actually think that's the case.

Come on, a lot of you are going to have to do a better job of faking some level of sophistication if this whole message board idea is to succeed.

Thank you for fighting the good fight. Ignorance is a tough thing to battle...

Just think of how many doughnuts he could put away during that time.

What you don't understand, is what his job is. He's doing it. I think his boss knows about it. What makes any of you think you have even the slightest clue what he should be doing?

The lawyers will handle Geno's contract. There are also people who work in the AD's office and I'm sure they handle a few things...as in most things. That's how it works.

Does the mayor of your town collect the garbage and fill the potholes? Get real people.[/quote

As a matter of fact yes.. I aint doing it.

He's representing the University and the State not on a vacation of his own choosing. Give him some time folks, this is a tough situation and we aren't buried yet.

Yeah we still got a foot sticking out.

.-.

Come on.... He should be out there on campus with a megaphone stating where he is going and why he is going and his objective in his going and what he expects to get back from where he is going and how he expects to get back from where he is going to and when he gets back from where he is going and why he is going in the first place!!!!! come on man.

Kind of embarrassing that we haven't ever had like a nice alt-football uni and have been going out in basically the same ho-hum thing for years minus a couple changes. RU seems to have a different slick combo every game; except for that whole F.A.M.I.L.Y. thing. At least our football team doesn't wear Aeropostale anymore I guess.

It's amazing how good a classic uniform looks when you're winning. Sick of the Nike fashion experiments.

That being the case, UConn better out Oregon, the Ducks. Heck, based on the concept of winning cures all, they might need to have more alternative uniforms than Oregon and Maryland together.

Remember if Connecticut is the "Land of Steady Habits" that's gonna also include the PP Legacy of Losing.

I'm not a huge fan of the current unis. They are 'fine' but it would be nice to have a change. Maybe in 2014, after the announcement of the new coach but before the stadium expansion plans are circulated.
