I think Caretti is awesome. I wished Maryland could have recruited her.

Speaking of Maryland, they have five 5 star players now. We are calling them the Fab 5 +1 (Sarah Myers who we love alot). Plus we add a 5* McDonalds All American transfer in Ieshia Smalls (Baylor).

Texas sure is talent rich in 2016. I hope a couple of those (Cox and Chou) end up in Waco.

There is a Maya from Georgia discussed in the article. Tell me, if you were Maya from Georgia wouldn't you want to go to UCONN?

6. Oh, Maya!
Another junior worth keeping an eye on is Maya Dodson, a 6-1 forward from St. Francis (Alpharetta, Georgia).

On a somewhat related note, Marissa Moseley watched sophomore Charli Collier in Texas today. Collier is rated #2 by Hoopgirlz and #3 by Blue Star. She gave a verbal to Texas in grade school before changing her mind.

Of the 2018 class, UConn is known to have interest in #'s 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 12, and 15.

UConn staff (not sure who) out in MN to watch #5 Christianna Carr earlier this week and I believe will be in Ark tomorrow to watch #3 Williams. There may be some interest in #9 Valencia Myers as well.

Thanks. Carr was just offered by South Carolina.

Chassity Carter, who was once a top 10 recruit, has dropped to #44.

PN has her #9
Bluestar has her at #9 as well.

Also, this Hoopgurlz is too liberal with their five star ratings.

Wouldn't put much stock in their ratings for 2018's yet. I'm not even sure they are set. Their numerical ratings certainly aren't; every group of five has a different number. It'll probably be at least a year before they seriously label the players with ratings markers.

I was referring to the class of 2016. They have 52 Five-Star players. 21 players with a number grade of 98. There was a time when when a 98 was only saved for players of Chiney Ogwumike and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis quality of play. Heck, Skylar Diggins got a 97. Granted, this Hoopgurlz is run by a different person than it used to be.

Baylor has enough bigs coming in so not sure why Cox would want to share so much playing time....

Dan Olson been around for a while now. I still don't understand all the 5 stars ratings which started with the 2014 class. (In fact HoopGurlz didn't start the stars rating system until the 2011 class). But the most important thing is how these girls perform when they get to campus. Several players are always overrated and then you'll have a Nina Davis or a Tianna Hawkins.

Cox is going to have to share playing time regardless of where she goes- even UCONN. Baylor has Montpremier & Brown, ND will have Turner, Reimer, Boley,Wesbeld, Louisville will have Shook, DeGrate, Fuehring, Lady Vols will have Russell and UCONN will have Butler and Tuck as returning post players.

If Cox is the player that she is advertised to be she won't have to share too much. But she may welcome the opportunity not to have all of the pressure on her immediately. If she were to choose any of these schools she would have an opportunity to get used to the college game by easing her way into the rotation.

I agree & also belive Cox can be a better post than all of the names mentioned except Tuck and Turner. In terms of the pressure-blame Stewie for setting the bar so high for a impact of a #1 in any class. Think about this, if UCONN goes 38 and 0 this year (strong possibility) , the only way for a future number 1 to improve on what Stewie did is to have 4 or fewer Non-NCAA tournament losses in 4 years.

When they debuted the 2016 rankings, Jaelyn Brown was #2 behind Cox, and Anna Wilson was #4 behind those two and Ionescu. Now Jaelyn Brown is #54 (though she did suffer an ACL this summer) while Wilson is #58.

Wilson's slide from 4 to 54 has been very odd. She committed to Stanford and made her age group USA basketball team as late as summer 2014. No injury, Stanford, USA basketball should not have equalled such a slide IMO.

Yeah but because of the USA basketball commitment she wasn't in any of the big AAU tournaments in the summer so obviously was slacking off and losing skills!!!:eek::)
Everyone knows that it is the AAU coaching and team play that makes the difference in a players skill set.:cool:

Because she is a better player than the other two bigs coming in this season.
There is a huge gap between where HoopGurlz has Jenna Staiti #17 and where Prospects nation has her-outside the top 100.
Do you think Staiti will follow through and attend mayland now thta Lexie is gone?
