Why would an NBA teams draft Hood before Daniels? Hood did zip against Mercer and appears to be a jumper shooter. Daniels has a complete game and won the championship.

I think its unfair to say Deandre has a complete game compared to hood.Hood is a better ball handler and slasher than deandre. Both are good spot up 3 point shooters but i think hood is better off the dribble.

Hood is more athletic and has a better handle. He's also wildly inconsistent. I think a team drafts Hood because they think he has more potential and can play the 2/3. Whereas with DD the question is if he's strong enough/quick enough to guard 3s and offensively does he handle/pass it well enough to be more than just a standstill 3 point shooter.

Hood is actually really good going to the hoop and can be a true wing in the NBA offensively. Problem is he is way too weak defensively to be an effective NBA starter...

He has a much more well rounded offensive game than DD.

Daniels is a 195 pound stretch four. His handle is shaky for a three.

I would take Hood in the top ten. Gimme him over Gary Harris.

If Hood is so great why didn't Coach K feed him the ball against that fearsome beast of a team Mercer. Yet, Ollie made Daniels the go to player against two teams capable of winning the tournament and Daniels buried them. Hood is late 2nd rd pick for someone who wants to stay in the lottery.

daniels doesnt fit in the pro game. He's not going to post anyone up, he is not going to take anyone off the dribble. He will be able to stretch a defense off the catch. I love Deandre and hope he capatilizes on a great run but I dont see it.

Totally disagree with this analysis.

They are exactly the same height. Hood is 12 lbs heavier but DD has a much larger reach.

They shot virtually the same % from 2 and from 3.

What Hood has over DD is a more fluid and complete offensive game. He's a better ball handler and passer and his vert is much better than DD's. But he's softer than DD and not nearly the interior defender (0.3 bpg compared to 1.4 for DD).

Daniels may have a complete game, but I would probably take a guy like Johnny Cueto over him. I mean, he has 3 complete games!

All these measurables are nice, but when you look at what Duke did in a weak ACC last year despite having Parker, you have to wonder how good any of the supporting cast was at Duke. I think Parker is amazing, and the team was not that good. So either Parker is wildly overrated, or everyone else on Duke is.

I mean, can't you say the same thing about Jeremy Lamb, Andre Drummond, Shabazz Napier, etc. and the 2012 team?
