STORRS, Conn. -- Four former University of Connecticut captains will serve as "Honorary Coaches" for the 2012 UConn Blue vs. White Spring Football game on Saturday, April 21 at Rentschler Field. Kickoff will be at 1:00 p.m. and admission and parking are free.

The Blue Coaches will be 1967 captain Roy Lawrence and 1969 captain Tony Casarella while the White Coaches will be 1981 co-captains Ken Swetizer and Dewey Raymond.

Lawrence played on the offensive line for the Huskies from 1965-67 and was named to UConn's 100th Anniversary All-Time Team in 1998. He was an All-Yankee Conference pick in 1967. In addition to his offensive line duties, he also excelled as a kicker and, in 1966, he booted a 50-yard field goal - the longest in New England history at the time. He is a native of Islam, N.J., and had a long career as a teacher in the Columbia (Conn.) school system.

Casarella moved positions during his Husky career from 1967-69 as he was a fullback in high school and later moved to tight end as a sophomore in college, a defensive tackle as a junior and a center as senior. He is a native of Harrison, N.Y., and is a retired math teacher at Rockville (Conn.) High School.

Sweitzer is one of the most successful quarterbacks in UConn history as he was an Honorable Mention All-America pick in 1980 and '81 and was the 1981 Yankee Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He remains fourth in school history in total offense and fourth in passing yardage. He was named to UConn's 100th Anniversary All-Time Team in 1998. Sweitzer was also an All-Yankee Conference and All-ECAC punter and started his Husky career as a wide receiver before switching to quarterback as a junior. He is currently the owner of Sweitzer Insurance, LLC., in his native Madison.

Raymond lettered for the Huskies from 1979-81 as a defensive lineman. He was a second team All-Yankee Conference pick as a junior in 1980. He is a native of Norwalk, Conn., and currently serves as an Associate Director of Development for The UConn Foundation.
