Please give a honest answer. How many BCS teams has Warde added to UConn's future football OOC schedule?

I'll play. Off the top of my head: Boise and BYU. You consider those BCS right?

Holding Michigan to their commitment should count as one, I doubt that was easy...and BYU and Boise are better draws than 60% of the "BCS schools" out there. Would you have preferred Indiana or Kentucky?

Time to move to honest question # 2, this one failed.

Manuel did no harm in adding BYU and Boise. True, those were the two easiest "big name" schools to add. If his alternative was a pay game like cincy added, or a two for one, or away/neutral with a BCS team (especially a top one), then Boise and BYU beat that scenario. It did come at a price, which is the return game on halloween to BYU, BYU can't get late season games, at all, from BCS schools. So in this respect, what UConn did was a small price to pay because nothing, but nothing, will cement yourself as being a midmajor more than doing a pay game. That said, now I would have much preferred a get like USF just did, home and home with Maryland and Wisconsin starting in 2014. But manuel went for the low hanging fruit.

Just be thankful hathaway put such a high buyout in the michigan contract, otherwise they would have been gonzo. Warde had nothing to do with keeping that in hartford. The law is the law, and the law says no home games outside of the rent.

What we should be judging manuel on now is the energy and excitement that the football team generates. I don't think that there is any question that Pasqualoni is gone after his year 3. It's minimizing the damage until then.

As far as the hoops facility, that was pushed along by pendergast. It was all $'s.

I do like the men's bb schedule.

Fortunate for USF and Cincinnatti, they can offer BIG BCS schools a large venue.....USF plays in an NFL stadium, Cinncinnatti can/has played in Paul Brown stadium.....in their backyard.

UConn can't offer the same.........hopefully they can get TCU in the future.......right now probably the only other Big Name school they can sign that hadn't been inked before all the latest CR.

Interesting, no WVU, Pitt, Syracuse, Rutgers talk.......I guess we're now too "small time" for them also

The answer is zero. BSU and BYU are nice games but are not BCS. If you are happy playing west coast non BCS games, then you have no reason to complain about the AAC. Michigan is still coming because of a crazy buyout #. NYC did't happen meanwhile Cuse can't scheule away enough games to NYC as possible. Its a interesting argument but not for this.

BSU-the last time they got a BCS team at home was Oregon St in 2010 (TCU 2011 was not BCS). In 2009 they had Oregon at home. In 2006 & 2004 they hosted Oregon St. This is all going back to 2003. BSU schedules 1 off N site games vs BCS schools or just big time away games. All they were able to get was games vs the state next to them for obvious reasons that works well for the BCS schools. All of these games were very early in the season schedule wise.

We signed a home and home with them. I think that BSU is a worthhile game and series considering our current position, but if you think this solves an issues, you are the idiot. Between the travel, recruiting grounds, tv market, alums in area and much more, you have to be smoking the Warde pipe if this is your go to.

BYU-Going indy has greatly increased the struggles of the quality games late in season. First off, if we get a invite elsewere that late return date then eats up our in conf week bye. We will have 2 early season bye's that year. So one of our nice warm weather weekends will go down the drain and our schdule will be more grueling with a likely finish of x of weeks in a row. Tough stretch to put your program in. On to BYU, justlike BSU they are a nice game for or current situation but again they are not pump chest material.

BYU has GTech at home on Oct 13th this year. Last year on that date they got Oregon St. Those are the only 2 BCS schools to visit BYU goin back 10 years later than Oct 1st on a schedule. UConn going to BYU is a nice CF trip tradition wise and its a TV draw but it lacks other substance. But look at the date we laded compared to these 2 and also what Cincy scheduled with BYU. We got hosed, or we have a AD not capble of basic things.

Both of these games are nice, but the setups scream desperate to the rest of the CF world. Perception is everything, I keep preaching it because UConn continues to not get it. For anyone to not simply answer zero to question is sad, it blue glasses sad. You all know where I stand on Warde, but after the spring game I figured more here would wake up. I Honestly think I and others here can do his job way better for 1/4th the price. He is not the answer for this state. USF and Cincy ar running train on him but because this board is so quiet, the fanbase and media are also quiet and no on realizes whats going on outside the bubble. I saw some one mention the bball schedule. Its ok. But I would rather be arrested for murder then give BC the chance to beneit off our name in a tney. so help me god. Warde is soft, basic and competent. But thats not what we need. We need a agressive, loud go getter.

So based on HFD's logic, Warde could schedule a home and home with Notre Dame and that would be seen as a failure because ND is not in a BCS conference? Please....

I would rather play Boise State and BYU than most of the teams that are part of BCS conferences.

-Clearly ND is a partal member of the ACC now which is a BCS league
-Did you just put ND on the same levelof BYU and BSU??? D is above he BCS teams for god sakes, then under BCS teams in the next tier BSU and BYU sit
-We failed horribly with ND series already, ad the Fenway poop fest. They are not calling.

You mut have blue glases to try this sadly to pick a bone. Everyone and there mother knows ND is the exception in CF. Well, accept for you?

Honest question -- would you rather get high-end non "BCS" programs that will give us return games, or play appearance fee games and 2 for 1's against ACC/B1G/B12 teams? Because those are your choices. The BCS (outside of the Big East) rarely did home and homes with lesser conferences. Wanting the rest of the world to treat us like we're in the club when we're not isn't going to get us anywhere.

-low end BCS 1 for 1's
-high end BCS N one off games
-high end BCS 1 for 1 with our other sports getting games to boost or side of the table. example cold be vs psu, @ psu in fball. with a mens and womens series in bball @psu, vs psu, @psu...

all are better than playing non BCS teams

Good to have you back HFD. However I have to call BS on this one. BCS and TCU (prior to their acceptance to the Big 12) played each other in the 2010 Fiesta Bowl, a BCS Bowl. They did not come from a BIG 5 BCS conference, but after 2013, who cares? I'd much rather play BSU and BYU than Kentucky, Indiana, Duke, or Iowa State at this point...

Is Syracuse or Georgetown and less an NCAA Tourney team because they got at large bids? Y

our thinking on this one is small time. Those in the know are in the know if you know what I mean. If UConn takes care of business the appropriate brows will be raised.

We were late scheduling 2014 OOC, who knows why, Hathaway departure and realignment probably figured in. BSU and BYU provided late-date fill-ins. If that's who were scheduling going forward, it's a major fail. But for the 2014 problem, it's adequate.

We really need to explore some kind of scheduling agreement with a major conference so that we get some major teams on our schedule on a routine basis. This would also help them evaluate us.

A Boise 1 for 1 looks a lot better on our future schedule than Virginia.

I can just imagine the AD at UCONN using a Women's basketball game as leverage for anything, especially football. Maybe we can leverage Hockey, or Women's Lacrosse and Field Hockey as well. Give me a break. Warde doing fine.

Dan it's been minutes and I am already tired of the negativity. Take another 60 days please!!!!
