So I was talking to my uncle over the weekend. He's a big fan of the women's team and as an alum always likes chatting it up with me about the team. So somehow it came up that he'd never been to Storrs and I was surprised because my sister and I both went and between graduations and whatever other events going on I guess he and my aunt never made it to campus for anything. So I told him, tell you what.. let's go catch a game next year and we'll go up early, I'll show you around etc. etc. He was all in on it. So I looked at the schedule and was actually kind of surprised to see most of the big name opponents are all away from campus. ND, Maryland are at the Civic Center and Oklahoma at the casino. Louisville is at Gampel but on a Monday. I'll grab a couple tickets and we'll head up, it just left me wondering though... does anybody else feel like Gampel makes it just that much harder for a team to travel to compared to Hartford? I get the Civic Center is a bigger venue and can fit a bigger crowd, but seems like you'd want to make the bigger name opponents that much more uncomfortable in that tight space at Gampel and seems like we're letting the opponents off easy and not using the venue to our advantage. Gampel gets rowdier than Hartford. Just a random thought I had while cruising the schedule. Curious if anyone else things the same way or if I'm riding solo.
