Northern Illinois 32 - Toledo 27

This loss was necessary for the American Conference to land the #1G5 bowl game. Now it is a question of who will it be? This is going to be interesting and exciting to watch.

What the loss means for Toledo: The dreams of crashing the postseason party as the highest-ranked team from a Group of 5 conference ended just hours after they became a legitimate possibility. Northern Illinois remains Toledo's personal tormentor, winning for the sixth straight time in the series and this time inflicting even more damage than normal with stakes that went well beyond the Mid-American Conference race. The Rockets aren't out of the running in the league, but the chance to play in a marquee bowl game is gone.

I started to watch the game and saw why it was on a Tuesday night. Pretty dull. Things must have picked-up with that score, but I had a tough time getting interested.

I was impressed with Toledo's OL. Don't think they played out that advantage enough and the performance of their. QB didn't help their cause down the stretch. They'd have trouble with the top half of the AAC.

The MAC is a fun conference to watch, but there really is a talent gap between the AAC and the rest of the G5 (with the exception of Boise State) this year.

Need a few more seasons like this and Aresco can really make his P6 argument.
