While I am not always a big fan of her post-game questions to the players, questions that often seem vague or obvious, I have to say she does do a good job of digging up in-game anecdotes for the broadcast that are actually interesting.
Two last night were the one about Geno and MM, bumping into each other on the recruiting trail and Geno asking MM, "Are we good?" No it's not game action but the nature of the rivalry and the history of these two coaches are relevant topics for a lot of people. Pretty interesting factoid from Holly.
The second one, which I would like to hear in greater detail, was the one about Geno taking Morgan aside amidst the post-championship hoopla two years ago? or last year? and telling her she could be the best player in America. Morgan answered tentatively, etc.. Anyway, I wasn't quite sure how the dynamic of the conversation would leave Morgan in tears, but apparently it did. Holly positioned this conversation as part of the "button pushing" groundwork, laid in the recent past, which resulted in Morgan being where she is today.
Did anyone ever hear anything about that second anecdote (Morgan) before...? I sure didn't.
