Our roots are in the east and I have to think that the former BE Presidents and AD have some loyalties to UCONN bring them up whenever they can. UCONN will rot in the B12...

Are there any new rumors that one or two ACC football powerhouses may leave the ACC for the B12 or B10?

You do know the ACC just signed a GOR that keeps them together until like 2036 or somewhere near there.

Appears instead to be an interpretation of one highly desirable scenario, but lacking any solid supporting evidence. May your loose interpretation of a tweet prove accurate!

You have to wonder what the cost to the ACC Network is of we go to the Big East with Fox...Des that limit carriage fees/carriage in general? Does that give the combination of FS1 (Big East), Fox Sports, B1G 10Network amd YES better cumulative TV leverage in the NY area than the ACC Network and other ESPN properties?

It's an interesting line as I said in another thread. Not because of the speculation that UConn will end up in the ACC, which people say off and on all the time, but that the reporter's "Source" pegs it to a timeline of before the Big 12 expands which is in days or weeks.

It's probably nothing, but I like rumors with dates/timelines.

There's no way that's going to happen. The ACC will not add another school until ND joins, unless a powerhouse on the order of UT becomes available. They're not pre-emptively taking UConn. We know this because we're not in the ACC right now.

This isn't the first time we've seen people who are not familiar with UConn's predicament say "well they belong in the ACC anyway. They'll end up there" because it makes sense that we'd end up in the ACC. The problem is, the ACC doesn't care what makes sense.

Agree...still, if ND is locked down for the next 20 years isn't that the same as being a full member for all practical purposes?

Whether it is or not, what the ACC is doing right now works well for them. They don't need to rush, and at the end of the day they don't need UConn.

They'll wait it out for as long as they have to, dangle the full-membership benefits in front of ND to see if they'll bite, and wait to see if the Big 12 eventually dies. And if it does, they'll try to get Texas to be #16. And even if the Big 12 stays together long term, UConn athletics will be very different by the time the ACC is making its #16 add. There's no guarantee we're the choice even then.

I hate being this pessimistic, but this really is "die on the vine" territory we're entering.

ACC should just go ahead and invite us and Cincy and let the Big 12 suffer with the 13th Grade (Memphis) and Houston.

Makes too much sense. Solidify the Northeast and build a bridge from Pitt to ND. Also get into B1G territory.

Not really, ND gets the added benefit of maintaining their contract with NBC, as well as access to the playoffs, without having to actually be in the ACC for a full ACC scheduled. Best of both worlds for them. They don't care about not being able to move their other sports if it means they get to remain independent in football.
